Suggestion Topic: 3.3 Realistic Actions
Suggestion Description: Amend rule 3.3 as follows:
You mustalways move in a realistic way not attempt to bypass or exploit gameplay mechanics intended to enforce realistic movement, even more so in combat. When you jump up to or down from places, you must do so carefully and without hurting yourself. You must not boost others onto buildings or structures; climb onto objects which would realistically not hold your weight; or use elevated or near one-way visibility defences.
During or when combat is imminent you must not stand on props placed by players, such as:
This more or less is the standard held for realistic movement as it stands; rewriting the rule as such would make that clearer, as its current text is vague and very open to interpretation. By setting the bar at intentionally working around gameplay mechanics, rather than just "Unrealistic movement; "it provides both players and staff members clearer guidelines on what forms of movement are and are not allowed.
The current wording leave significant room for resonable people to disagree about its meaning. By making it clearer, either in this way or by another, it helps all players be more aware of what activity is encouraged, and what is prohibited.
Why should this be added?:
- Provides additional clarification regarding how this rule should be enforced
- More clearly communicates what kind of movement is considered allowed
- Replaces a subjective term with a more objective and understandable criterion
What negatives could this have?:
- Removes a degree of staff discretion as to what can be considered "realistic movement"
