Suggestion Topic: 6.2 Third-Party Tools
Suggestion Description:
"You must not use content, software, macros, or scripts that give you an advantage over others. This includes organisation chat binds.
The only exceptions are third party crosshairs, custom weapon skins installed in the phcustomtextures folder, and macros designed to automate player-run games (provided they are in private areas). You can learn more about this in the forum guide."
We essentially allow people to use macros to automate the gameplay of those tabletop games in Bazaar for example, provided the macros do not modify the current player's state in any way (beyond reporting through chat the result of the game) to prevent this being any sort of grey area for abuse.
Player's will also be required to stay in private areas, to prevent spam in chat.
I would also specify in the forum guide that both the player(s) and the game runner rolls from chat must be used for any kind of RNG component of the game, to prevent any kind of "oops you lost" x20000 in a row scenarios. Private areas must also be specified as things like the back of Bazaar shops, or private domiciles.
Why should this be added?:
- Significantly expands what is possible with tabletop games, without requiring significant action from the staff & developers, beyond enforcing the in-game roll usage at times.
- Can bridge the gap to automated games in Bazaar and such.
What negatives could this have?:
- Possible situations where a game runner is using hidden rolls in their macro, but this can be enforced by having the rolls be explicitly in-game.
