Stop saying and start doing

but who judges wether or not its the other players negligence or not?
If you are driving legally (not excessively speeding, following the law and common sense) and you car goes boom into another car. There's a good chance they were at fault

lets say someone drove on the wrong side of the road and Tieres my car. Am I allowed to jump out, gp them, force Them over to an atm and then get my money?

I said this before I will say it again.

Role players and PvPers will ALWAYS clash. There is no point making these threads, just ignore or get along. Report people harassing you and they will be dealt with. If the roleplayers are breaking rules they will be dealt with too when reported.

This is the internet, people will complain, bully and annoy others. It is up to yourself to do something about it, in the form of reports or by just ignoring it.

So it is against the rules to go AFK when being taken to jail?

3.16 Going Idle (AFK)

Players must not go idle during roleplay or administrative situations - unless absolutely necessary - and if so must inform others involved via LOOC. If performing a job, players should quit said job before going idle. In both cases an administrator must be informed via a report (F6).

Good to know thank you. I’ve never seen it enforced during arrests but this is good to know

Another issue i see is people saying “Roleplay gets you banned!!”
We all know this is not true, roleplaying doesn’t get you banned unless you decide to completely disregard the rules the server set in place. Just because you Unjustifiably shot someone cause you were “roleplaying a killer” doesn’t work or the server would be full of people randomly killing others for no reason. It isn’t the roleplay that gets you banned, it’s your actions (i know this very well).
i disagree with this because it is arguably true that roleplay does get you banned in some cases.

I honestly do not understand how people believe that it's true doing roleplay gets you banned. We all know it's an excuse that you are using because you believe just because you're doing roleplay excuses you from the server rule breaks. The 'roleplaying' doesn't get you banned or punished, your breaking of the rules is what gets you banned.

I explicitly referenced anecdotal evidence / first-hand experience (which I have video-graphic evidence of) where everyone involved enjoyed the roleplay despite what the rules say by the letter and I was still punished severely for providing that experience.

Anyone I talked to about roleplay, namely multiple officers who were involved roleplaying as cops chasing me, testified to me personally that they did not report me to staff. In the jail cells, they also testified they disagree that I deserve a punishment and they enjoyed the situation.

In hindsight, it is very easy to claim "Roleplay is not banned, rule breaks are banned," but we know the rules are abstract on purpose and the way staff choose to enforce them can literally contradict what is written sometimes like how van growing is punished despite the drugs in the back literally being accessible by definiton. There are times when developers will blatantly break rules but due to their position never face anything remotely close to the level of scrutiny a normal user would. I lost count of how many times moderators have had a laugh over RDMing each other, including me with staff who are friends, where everyone is just having fun and in the end the victim gets revived because the point is to have fun.

In this case, No one was harmed, no one lost anything of value and it was at a time when the server population was around 30. Yet still, a whole month off for daring to have fun with everyone else.

This is the frustrating type of staff involvement that ruins people's morale and the lack of accountability is ever-more annoying.

I am not aiming to stir a fight or attract the bandwagon of haters that refuse to actually engage my perspective and instead choose to just downvote spam or misinterpret my points to try to discredit me. This is simply how I feel about what is going on an I am open-minded to discussing it openly to reach common-ground.

I was still punished severely
You have 15 bans and 6 warnings a lot of them for 3.4 so of course your ban is going to be harsher. That’s your own fault bro. Don’t have a dictionary as your ban and warn history.

you can have fun without breaking the rules. If the only way you can have fun is by breaking the rules so be it but don’t be surprised when staff kicks you in the nuts for doing it then complain on the forums

This showcases how illogical and toxic the response arguments can be sometimes.

My record is not relevant to the general argument I am making.

The closest thing to what I think you’re attempting to refute is that one of my points is if everyone is consenting to having fun roleplay that may be against the rules without harming anyone, then that it is perfectly fine. However, there is a clear hypocrisy for staff to excuse that behavior amongst themselves but pick and choose users to pull aside to punish for breaching the exact letter in accordance with their abstract arbitrary interpretation of the rules despite similar or exactly identical conditions applying to them when they do it. In addition it is notable to consider the recent case of van growing being a written rule that is enforced contrary to what is written. There is a clear double standard and discrepancy in whether the rules are applied or not, which ties into how hurtful it is for a player base to openly witness this conduct and be expected to freely roleplay.

It may genuinely kill player morale and feel as if we have to fear someone breathing down our neck upset about how our roleplay does not align with their arbitrary interpretation of what is okay or not, even in my case where everyone had fun and appreciated it while no one got hurt.

I never even remotely claimed that “The only way I can have fun is by breaking rules,” that is clearly a personal attack, a misinterpretation and a disregard for the actual argument I’m making.
