Tesla is insanely overpriced compared to other car manufacturors, even electric ones. It's always been a speculative stock, and the speculation is starting to give way to the reality that they are just a car company, one that heavily relies on unstable government subsidies from an erratic president. The CEO's swing to the far right has also alienated much of their target market.
I wouldn't buy Tesla stock unless you want to gamble on Elon Musk somehow buying his way out of this problem, which seems difficult to do since most of the loans he took out to buy Twitter use Tesla stock as collateral.
