Brief description of idea:
Add the Audi RS4 To the Tactical Firearms Units vehicle list for light gear patrols.
The Audi A6 is used by armed wings of police forces in the U.K. and Europe due to its ability to store firearms and tactical equipment in abundance. Unfortunately we don’t have that on perp so the RS4 is the closest thing to it.
I have an old file for an Audi RS4 TFU skin I’m willing to finish by March.
When both @Mim And also when @Hayden were traffic command, they both said that they wouldn’t mind losing the RS4 as an unmarked car if need be for the sake of giving TFU a new light gear patrol vehicle. I don’t know how our current traffic command team would feel about this however.
Just to be clear: This vehicle would be marked as a police vehicle, not unmarked like the RTU RS4.
Maybe to not invalidate the Range Rover, TFU RS4’s wouldn’t contain an M24 in the trunk?
Benefits over the Range Rover would include:
- Not being able to be shot from under the car at longer range engagements
- Smaller profile
- more agile than a Range Rover
- Could be used more for cover, allowing officers to shoot over the hood of the car easier.
Whilst the Range Rover would have these benefits over the RS4:
- Being able to roll flashbangs under it
- Containing a sniper in the trunk
- being able to use it to climb on buildings and peek over walls.
- Heavier weight for ramming cars
What benefits would this idea have for the department:
- New Light TFU vehicle to offer alternative tactical use over the Range Rover.
- Realistic modern police car.
- Doesn’t force senior officers to use the Range Rover 24/7
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
- Could cost RTU one of their unmarked cars? (not
- Development time (albeit I’m already like 1/5th the way through texturing the car) and content.
Other additions:
