So I have one of dem wifi extenders, and it usually works great but now something's wrong with it, the signal bars on it starts flashing and it stops working, anybody know a fix?

Solution
We use a Fritz repeater which should work exactly the same as yours.

Reconfigure the extender by disconnecting it and reconnecting it by pressing the WPS button or what ever method you are using. After that, change the channels your router is currently sending on, pick one that is not busy. I currently use channel 8, to see which channels are currently the most busiest around you use inSSIDer.
And lastly, upgrade your router OS. This all can be done on your routers configuration page (it's http://fritz.box for me).

Good luck!

Have you tired setting it up again? Sometimes if the extender gets turned off for some reason, it completely forgets the settings and goes back to factory reset. Try setting it up again by doing this:

  1. Get yourself one of those fancy ethernet cables.
  2. While having the extender plugged in, and turned on. Plug one end of the cable into the ethernet cable slot on the extender.
  3. Plug the other end of the cable into your PC.
  4. Make sure that you PC is running on the connection coming from the extender, and not some other wifi signal.
  5. Try opening a website. If it pops up with an extender menu, then you just need to follow the steps to set it up.
Hope it helps!
