Suggestion Title: Forcing mayors to actually be mayors (Idea 1)
Suggestion Description: In order to maintain certain tax policies, the Mayor should be forced to return to City hall and remain there for a set amount of time. These policies include:
- Sales taxes above 18%
-Police state policy.

If the Mayor fails to return to city hall in a 20 minute period, The City hall NPC can be used to call for a petition to alter / remove certain policies via a vote accessible via the City Hall NPC. This would then force the Mayor to return to the City hall to set the Taxes / policies back.

The Petition system becomes unlocked only when assassination-justifying policies are implemented.

In order to block a petition, The mayor must be inside their office at city hall.

The Mayor reinstating the policies that were altered due to the result of a Public petition to lower sales taxes or remove police state will grant citizens who voted in favour of the Petition a right to assassinate the mayor without having to jump through the hoops of threatening them first. Of course, assassinating the Mayor should remain an option before petitions are launched, Petitions are just so Mayors are forced to actually interact with the public to a degree.

Why should this be added?:
- Stops mayors from failing to Roleplay as an actual Mayor.
- Gameplay incentives over rules-incentives.
- Forces some degree of conflict and interaction and

What negatives could this have?:
- May hinder Roleplay someplace else or something.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: Mayors who aren't roleplaying have some incentive to actually be a Mayor and not moneyprint in the arse end of nowhere.

I completely agree with this suggestion. Mayors that become mayor just to then hide for 5 hours with max tax are very annoying. They farm money for themselves without actually having to do anything.

Yes please. There have been too many Mayor's who are hiding and even setting salaries to the absolute minimum (Courier's don't even get paid with this current one) so it's absolutely ass to even take any form of legal job or any other business oppurtunity with a Mayor that shows 0 interest for a city that has a budget of 700K.

Have fun trying to find the Mayor on a map this large.

I wrote about this on the other thread, but you could possibly also work in what I was saying there - giving the Mayor certain things they actually have to maintain. I.E Objectives, such as visiting PD, Hospital, giving speeches, making investigations, funding the PD correctly as if the Bank is successfully raided they lose out on a paychqeue bonus and other locations which could perhaps maintain or totally decrease their paycheque if they are negligent. This way it's a guessing game for criminals where he'll be next, and leaving the city unattended for long periods completely hampers their paycheque.

It could be say, a +30% increase for good mayoral work on top, and a -50% decrease for complete negligence.

I suggested if tax are above a certain percentage he has to go to city shops NPCs to explain why they are so high, the taxes affect their businesses after all.

I know it'd be a lotta work and a huge ask, but seeing shops actually close because of high sales tax would be peak.. players don't care at the moment right now but I'm sure full scale riots will occur if the gun store, digipeeps and others have a big "Moved town due to high sales tax on them" until the issues resolved, probably too much dev work for that tho

I fully agree! Today we had a mayor (he was assassinated later by a grenade) who was literally in the toilet of Woodcabin one for almost two hours. Of course with extremely high income taxes. This idea would prevent that sort of fail RP.
