"It’s a game, some of us love to drive and drift reckless around rather than shoot police 24/7
[...]
If a crash happens, kill the person or force them to pay it as counter play to their recklessness, so conclusively it’s roleplay."
You're arguing against "shooting police 24/7" as a form of repetitive and unrealistic RP, and then immediately suggest killing someone because they drove recklessly and hit your car. If the issue is realism and quality of roleplay, that logic just doesn't line up. You can't justify reckless driving as immersive RP, then turn around and say the proper response is to gun someone down in the street over a bumper tap. That's just replacing one poor RP habit with another.
Nice try, but I also explicitly said “force them to pay it,” which was conveniently ignored. Moreover, I laid out a couple options in consideration of the diverse severity of the crashes that result due to recklessness and how the dynamic between parties would influence either solution or maybe what was intended as an implied custom pathway to handle that interaction. (I.e settling on a payment, reporting to PLPD, forgiving the accident, etc..)
Simply put, I did not argue that shootouts is a proper route of role play every time. I briefly mentioned it as one way to go about handling one extreme and then immediately named the peaceful alternative.
That in itself seems more so logical.
"Nowadays we have way too much money and money is easy to make to be acting like a rc repair for a few bumps deserves a whole rule to punish it."
Maybe you do. But let’s be real about what those “few bumps” actually cost.
A Mazda Furai with tier 1 damage costs 160k to repair. Tier 2? 400k.
A Bugatti, with a lower scaling (roughly the same price for other supercars), costs 34k for tier 1 and 86k for tier 2.
And 90% of the time, the person who causes the crash just shrugs, denies fault, and disappears faster than their driving skills. Refund? Nah. That’s not just a minor inconvenience.
This is a conclusion that creates a false dilemma.
It’s claiming that “Tiering is inevitable, Refunds are impossible, the person will get away with it. So we either have this 3.15 rule or else we’re doomed.”
Firstly, it’s important to consider how rare tiering a car is assuming a player understands basic rules of safety on the road. Especially with your own example being the Furai meaning the car comes with automatic car security making it theft-proof.
Secondly, it’s important to consider that refunds will happen if the victim is genuinely not at fault which is the purpose of refund forms and action requests. There are currently open action requests and recently accepted refund requests for way less, let alone the given extreme examples of a Bugatti and Furai listing nearly 200k+ in damagesz
Lastly in regards to holding players accountable still, that aspect remains intact thanks to the rule against excessive negativity. It is in part there and has been enforced as such for those who harm innocent safe drivers without a role play reason regardless of if the damages are car-related or otherwise.
If people want to drive recklessly, that’s fine, but they should do it at places where it does not impact other players. If you want to drift at the roundabout, it should be done with an actual reason and otherwise be ready to face consequences other than a 4 year jail sentence.
I think we can agree that ideally driving reckless should not harm uninvolved parties in a tasteless manner without any fun involved. However, joyriding in of itself in areas where others commute such as roundabouts should not incur a rule break punishment in my opinion and should instead be allowed as to not hinder role play.
