What do you do for work?

Project Manager for the GB mainline railway, with my projects mainly focussing on railway rules/standards development and research.

I used to be in the Project Management Office for the introduction of heat networks regulation at Ofgem, and prior to that I was a Border Force Officer and then a Higher Officer at Heathrow Airport.

I do anchor handling, basically attatching jackups and semi submersible oil rigs to the sea bed.

I am also a rescue boat driver, and fire fighter.

So your the reason I get stop searched at every airport

Currently working as a Barista, playing a hybrid role between floor, till and coffee making.

Part time, I do photography. This is more of a side project, I do get paid at times but it's more so to meet new people, try something new and explore.

I smack my keyboard, which makes things in order for other humans to smack their keyboard so it does other things.

I also sit in meetings to learn absolutely nothing from them, except that the customer doesn't like that I smacked my keyboard exactly the way they described they wanted the keyboard to be smacked.

Since I work from home, I'm also a part time barista, dog walker, occasional psychiatrist, room service and maid.

My job title is officially "IT Support Specialist" but to be honest, I am just a glorified Helpdesk position.

However, I do get my own office, work on some server and infrastructure stuff, and manage some security details around the workplace! Also about 4 times a year, they will send me to urban areas around my state to help set up conferences so I get my hotel, travel, and food paid for while I am out in addition to making overtime which is really fun when I go, I have some breathtaking photos that I feel would make you think I was on vacation when I was really just working.

I think the scariest part of my job is occasionally, I have to help my state's Supreme Court office, and if I go over I have to go through a metal detector and get frisked and stuff and it always makes me feel like if I cannot fix their computer problems they will put me in jail forever lmao.
