Shoutout to pure, seething rage and acute sleep depravation for the contents of this post.

Raid fatigue is incredibly common on cop. There used to be so many more things for cops to do, but whenever I've been on duty in the past few weeks it's just raid after raid against people equipped with far better weapons and superior communication. It is not fun to defend a PD raid only for another to happen immediately because you arrested people from the first. It is not fun to get blackscreened then immediately be confronted with two other raids upon respawning. It is demoralising to know that even if you win and arrest someone you have to then deal with a further PD raid because it is now impossible to prevent people from calling ten toes (they can do it from inside the jail cells.) The non-pvp aspects of PD have diminished to such an extent that to do anything else I am restricted to interacting with an incredibly small portion of the player base. Everyone who gets arrested threatens IAs, everyone who is arrested constantly wastes time and abuses supervisor policy. It is not fun to be a cop. The PD lockdown policies are ineffective and the PD hostage changes have actually made the PD raid problem worse. On a 64 population server it is not uncommon to see 1-4 cops online. For reference, this used to be the max population of the server and cop slots used to cap out at 12, which were usually pretty full. Few people bother to interact with cops when being arrested besides whining for a supervisor.

The core gameplay loop is not fun for anyone in the PD except the TFU officers who are actually well equipped to deal with the situations presented. Even then, entering an area where suspects could literally be anywhere is akin to being a squad of Americans trying to make their way through the Vietnamese jungle. 3.4 is no longer a real consideration in any meaningful way, and every time you respond to a firearms incident you just feel like you're going to be the next shmuck in some guys shitty frag montage. Very little has actually changed since my last post on the topic. As someone who has periodically been a member of the PD for nearly 10 years I can say that it's very bleak. I'm tired of the zergs, I'm tired of the extensive PD raids and quite frankly I'm tired of playing police. If it wasn't for the actually interesting and fun work I do in IA I would've resigned by now.

If I wanted to PvP constantly I'd play something that didn't pretend to be a roleplay server.

It’s refreshing to see the truth being spoken.

I also particularly enjoyed this part of the post

At the end of the day nothing is going to change. Crim mains are gonna keep doing what they do and scream “PD OP just communicate better and PD have free guns” while they PD wipe nonstop 24/7 and create absolutely abhorrent montages that should be banned. SMT claims they want more RP stuff to happen but I’ve seen shitty montages on the monthly update that’s posted every month. Change starts at the top but that isn’t going to happen.

In order to even have any enjoyment on PD you have to downright ignore every single shootout just to have a chance to even play the game and even then it’s a toss up if the traffic stop ends in a shooting which happens. Crim mains wanted for 7+ year crimes drive like fucking maniacs around the city and when they get lit up by PD it’s instant shot dead enjoy doing nothing for a bit time. It’s exhausting and annoying. I get on here to play a game not spend more then half my time doomscrolling because the city has more shootings then the city of Chicago.

This is one of the reasons for my crash out last night. It's nothing but CSGO esports players ruining the fun of perp. I stopped playing perp for 2 months and I forgot why I stopped. I came back and then remembered why I did leave.

The state of the server has become so fucking bad it's unplayable, It doesn't even matter how many times they'll buff PD or Nerf Crim and it's unbearable. We have over 6 to 8 fucking PD raiders for one 1 person against like 4 cops late at night. Even if they add the suggestion from the "Auto rival the top 3 orgs" they'll still find a way to ruin the fun for people who actually wanna play the game and not fucking sweat at a 20 year old game. If I even try to respond to a raid at tidals or matter of fact fucking anywhere on the map we have Dan apEX Madesclaire fucking shooting at me with an Ak101. This server is generally a fucking ranked game of CSGO. It's a fucking joke.

how would u change the dynamic of perp to make it more enjoyable for cops?

How about limiting the amount of raids people can do to once per hour, and restrict PD raids to 10 year sentences. As it stands, PD is in a vicious cycle where they arrest someone for 11.11, they get jailbroken, commit more 11.11, get arrested, jailbroken and so on. It never really ends. My enjoyment of PD has dropped through the floor in recent times and ignoring shootouts can, and most likely will end up in someone shouting at you for not doing your job. There's no incentive to be on duty right now.

Edit: Alternatively, make PD raids count toward your raid timer.

how is it possible to restrict pd raids to a 10 year sentence? How will someone know their friend is going in for 10 years if no crime has a minimum sentence of 10 years (if im not mistaken)? I see where u guys come from where u say that constant pd raids and normal raids ruin the fun for u. Maybe something like making PD raids count towards your 2 raids per hour or putting a cap at only one pd raid per hour would be more beneficial.

YOU need to start playing cop like pedro bean

I can’t say much I’m at work but this

PD AND bank raids should count towards raid timer

Should be limited to 1 an hour

Should only be allowed if they are booked for murder

You shouldn’t be allowed to act on a 10 toes call if they are in the jails and your in lobby.

I’ll think of more later on when I’m home

I dont see any world in which limiting raids to 1 per hour will be beneficial to the WHOLE com because crims will hate it. I like the idea of counting PD raids towards the timer but bank raids take so long and dont happen unless the bank has an amount of money that crims want so im not too sure thats necesssary. I do also like the idea with the no acting on 10 toes calls from inside the cell because its not realistic to hear that message from all the way under u and through several walls.

Your not forced to pvp constantly if you don't want to. You don't have to go to shootouts join rtu?
RTU is still required to respond to life threatening situations its policy. Yes we have a priority for traffic incidents but for raids and stuff it’s still a requirement to respond. Not to mention not everyone wants to go through an app and training session either.

The post is from the perspective of someone in the pd for a decade.

I am quite aware of that however the point still stands that even if you join RTU you still have to respond to shootouts. It’s policy so your point of saying “don’t respond join RTU” is invalid
Oh well if the rules say that i guess you have no other alternatives LOL. arriving late or setting up a perimeter. Additionally when I've been on pd I have just not gone to shootouts and I've never been warned for it.

I don’t know how well enforced it is. I personally boycott most shootouts. I’ve never had anything said to me personally except from pain in the ass dispatchers

I’m gonna play devils advocate here

I dont think making the raid timer 2 to 1 is going to do anyone any favours apart from you guys really. Maybe adjusting it tbf but i think lowering it will cause more issues / will cause more zerging as the thought process of i only have 1 raid lets go raid big base with 100 people

At the end of the day I'm not a staff member I'm banned for 6 months and the only thing atm i give a single fuck about is patrol trainer.
PD for me has been a constant battle of whinny fucking degenerates that complain about the stupidest fuckin thing that go thought to IA, constant arseholes getting ranks without doing ANY effort people keeping ranks they don’t have an interest in anymore. Which i have examples / evidence to back up.
I been VERY fortunate that I had things looked into very closely regarding my IA’s BUT if you make IA’s over super petty shit im sorry but you need to be kneecapped with a hammer i probs made some petty ones at some put we all have but im talking about the constant complaining

However i feel like this is just the same song and dance all the time with no actual solution imo but hey what do I know :penguin::penguin:

I mean its kind of just how the game is. I've played for 3 years and I don't feel its any different. The server is cops and robbers. Take it from a PD main.

PD raiding is excessive and should be controlled. PD raiding 7 minutes into a 10 year sentence feels like a general violation of 3.4 as was your life worth saving your friend 3 minutes in jail.
