The PLPD is still a joke

I think we've all had internal discussions about the police department and the raids in general just being unbearable. There really is no downtime, where you could drive around, chill and be petty to the most random civilians.

What do we do to fix it? And how do we not make the game not fun for civilians by doing so?

We are trying to bring some changes to RTU, which is a bit more of a larpy division in order to allow people to do stuff other than shootouts.
How will RTU help the idea of being vaporised by 20 man PD raids or spam pd raids?

Dare I say that part of the problem might stem from the fact that there isnt really much else besides PD Raiding, Bank Raiding and Base Raiding for the majority of the playerbase. There is a lack of systems in place that people can experiment and have fun with that distract them from doing things like this, so its hard to blame people from doing the only thing they really can do. There is always the argument of "just passive RP", but at this point its such a small subset of the playerbase that actually enjoy doing those things.

The issue isnt particularly a problem with PD as in general I'd say the PD is in a particularly good spot (maybe I'm biased because I'm active within it). The experienced players who have everything they want will always PvP because it is the only fun thing they can do and they will always find ways around the rules, policies or features that you put in place. The people who don't have anything will PvP because currently it is the only viable way to get the things they want. I feel that the only way to combat this is to make a more feature rich environment that actually adds more viable ways for a player to play the server and achieve the things that they want to achieve.

If you are able to find numerous people who can willingly just spam pd raids yes it is cringe, yes it is annoying but these people most of the time have nothing to do so they will do anything to increase their dopamine. There is no realistic way you should be able to find a bunch of people on a feature rich server as most are just crafting, rotting on the chem table screen or waiting for timer to end.

Also there's no issue with PD (itself) as most people like to larp about idk the divisions im in probably just have normal people. Off topic 90% of PD complaints just come from bandwagoning and egregiously exaggerating stuff so they have something to whinge about.

I have to agree with exrobite, policing has become a pvp shitfest

I just ignore shootouts altogether most of the time now, and yet they still manage to find me. It's all very chaotic and disorganized, and feels like everyone is kind of doing their own thing nowadays, not much teamwork, or any roleplay at all really.

The other day I was shot and revived. Me and a Corporal had 2 suspects detained for 9.2, but neither of us had any vehicles. All the other cops left to go to some other shootout. Corporal told me "just give them tickets", and I was like how could I? One of them literally just shot me?
Well wouldn't you know, not 3 minutes later some people came and just killed both of us and the suspects went on their merry way.

PD raids are so common because, for some reason, you can see how long people have been booked for while you're in the lobby, and you can also hear a 10 toes call. This lets people respawn, run straight to the PD, and wait. People don't even need to call out "10 toes" anymore.
