    Having now toyed around with emergency lights for awhile... While the syncing of them helps with color bleeding and stuff, it comes off very visually boring when there is a large mix of them. So I will have them be on their own independent cycles instead.

    More news with indicators that's way way overdue! The QOL update they've needed forever, along with all my other upcoming changes (release is TBD) indicators will finally turn off after you complete a turn. Not perfect but they will not toggle off if you turn the opposite way and allows small corrective turns so I consider that a win.

    I have been fixing up some of the behind the scenes stuff with vehicles but more over, I have now made it so vehicle indicators can be altered (by us) to have different cycle lengths. This means yours and all other cars will no longer always blink their indicators at the same time every single time.

    While the video is made by the product they're talking about so it may be a bit biased in their favor, it shows what I was talking about.
    So I may take a hint from that and make emergency lights be synchronized, at least within their respective jobs. However, I still want to make them nicer overall if possible.

    Thats really interesting i didn't know it was setup like that. Departments around me don't have them in sync like that and to be honest i didn't know it could be done to be fair lol

    Same here, or at least, I guess I never paid enough attention to that to notice if they were. Unexpected but I suppose it does make sense, however there isn't nearly as much glare or sense of brightness within Garry's Mod so it may still be independent originally.

    New question for anyone willing to give feedback, while I make no guarantees about it... Are there any vehicles that you look at and feel it has lots of issues graphically? Like the current VW Beetle's wheels have a very "blocky" and weird shading to them as an easy example of the kind of problem I mean.

    Even though you already sold it so there was no rush, I felt it was important enough to expedite the fix for that gap. So it's not perfect but it works well enough. Whenever I publish all the other changes it'll be included. (the dark line is simply reflection)

    As a sort of informal poll, which do you prefer... when handbraking, cars that slide a lot, a decent amount, or only a little?

    We seem to have a bit of a discrepancy in the scripts for some reason so each car is a bit unknown until being driven.

    Ye so my SL65 upgrades I sold, so it may be something there, But my G wagon is only single upgraded not double, However it feels diffrent you can see in the clip its like in the SL65 Im fighting with the car but the gwagon im good with it mostly (It may be a case of me driving like a dickhead)

    Some vehicles double upgraded does feel like a downgrade in some aspects, I used to hear how the Mazda Furai feels awful to drive compared to stock, I can't list down specifics on what doesn't feel good on what vehicle without actually trying it again myself to leave something more definitive but I hope you can look into this at some point with community members

    No I have not gone missing again. First off I want to give a big shoutout to @Ezza for finding ways to recompile cars. So with that in mind I have a large focus on cars in general. With my test server up and running again expect a number of changes regarding them coming up soon. I will be asking for some feedback in a little bit.

    I understand the want to make things yourselves and support it. Just wish there was more options for clothes and that the options we had were better looking. The suits on mafia are fresh as hell lol

    This may come from a biased point of view but before we started PH, the server we played on had suits along with a few normal everyday clothes. It simply lead to everyone wanting to wear a suit instead of anything else. So while there were options, people ended up looking the same anyways, so it's never made the idea of adding suits very appealing to me, as fashionable as they may be.

    Fun fact. While not super obvious yet, the first signs of late summer are appearing in Paralake currently. In about one RL week we will start to see signs of autumn, Paralake gets very scenic that time of year. As for now, see if you can spot the signs of late summer, it's a small change but I had to include it anyways.

    A little over 24 hours later of V6, how are we all feeling? There have been some hiccups of course, but are we enjoying it? With all the testing we had to do while creating it, it made going to V5 feel like such a step backward to me. I really enjoy what V6 is and the potential things it opens up for us to do, like other iterations of Paralake.

    Still learning the map a little bit. Still hard to get into the server sometime to time. You guys did really well on this map

    I love every second of V6 its such a wonderful map

    It's a 10/10 homerun. The new map makes V5 look genuinely prehistoric. Balance wise, I've always felt the late V5 era was too skewed in favour of the defenders and cops. However in V6 - there's more ways to escape, more entry ways, more cover inside the buildings and the map is larger. I think the subtle elegance of V6s map design fixes the raiding issue without needing to make other changes.

    Today's the big day! V6 feels like how I always imagined V1 to be, though looking at V1 these days it's remarkable just how different they are. Yet @peeps and @Lelios1 have done an amazing job of making the map feel similar to how it has been but totally new. There is so much to explore and see, so take your time and don't rush, it is one incredible experience.

    So... Who's excited for V6? Crazy to think that over a decade ago is when we originally designed and switched to Paralake. V6 goes way further than anything we knew possible at that time, partially updated limits but mainly the talent of everyone involved now allows for such an amazing map to be made.

    I'm certainly excited and while I never were there for the OG days (referring to the EvoCity) as I first join in the end of 2015 the whole this Paralake always had a special place in my heart.

    A new chapter for Perpheads is always welcomed and it'll be a lovely fresh start for something new!

    @SunnyR As someone who has seen Paralake grow over time since 2015 then you'll appreciate V6 even more. There are a lot of places that will seem similar or are a callback, but it all feels totally fresh in the best of ways.

    I have a bit of a workflow now that generally gives adequate results. I'm keeping the same texture resolution as the current ones so that they keep sort of a consistent quality so there's not a "must have" look. But I will admit some turn out better than others. I can't guarantee all heads will get a new one and others may get more than one. :bag: I do what I can.

    Some more work has been done on the female shown based on some feedback I received. She now has less pronounced highlights, eyebrows adjusted some, and "makeup" reduced. All in all to produce a more natural look. Like I said, I am still learning how to do this, but I am pleased with the results personally. I now need to find a workflow to do them a bit faster with still good quality results.

    I suggest you try to make the eyes and eyebrows similar in expression to the originals since these new versions have a strange “staring into your soul” kind of feel when I look at them personally. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same.

    Maybe. I feel when I've made her eyebrows level like how the original is, then she's a bit expressionless. Since we don't have any emotions shown really, it makes the face sort of bland. I can look into trying to make the corners of the mouth go the other way though.

    Overall the idea is to get some more faces out there to make people more diverse in their appearance. Obviously we can't possibly make everyone unique as everyone is free to pick every aspect of their look. However, if we can work toward more possibilities I personally think that helps make everything more enjoyable when doing so.

    Because so many people were curious and wanted to see, I will reveal one thing I am happy with. They may still get some refinement yet and they will just be more options to pick. I will look into improving other parts to match too but for now... Here's the current and my new ones pics

    I like the finer detail but they look like they’re made out of plastic, hell at first I thought it was AI generated modifications lmao

    Also you should make sure the skin stays consistent from the neck below because currently there’s just a sudden skin tone change for some models

    Obviously I haven't done anything to match the head with the rest. It was to see if I could create new faces. Yes, there are plastic-y elements, but that still generally looks better than the current which lacks any definition. At any kind of distance that's not an issue but they still look decent.

    So unfortunately I haven't created as much as I would've liked to in the last couple weeks. However, I decided to experiment with making something I never felt I could even do in the past and I feel it went amazingly well. If enough people show interest I will post a test pic of it.

    Good news, a "simple" thing I tried to see if it would work for V6, did! It may not be super detailed or complex but for making V6 even more alive, it does nicely.
    Bad news, I tried seeing if banking a turn on the highway would help taking it at higher speed, did not have any noticable improvement. If anything it made the turn more unstable.

    No picture this time but I keep thinking of small things to make; which even if not something you immediately notice I think they will increase the incredible difference V6 brings with it. A simple example being proper guardrails for the highway. They may seem minor but as they're pieced together it means V6 may be such a different vibe that it will be Paralake in spirit, but at the same time... a whole new map.

    Because so many models and textures will be made by us for V6 rather than so much reliance on HL2 and some others. There will be incredible changes that should add more of a new feeling to the map in lots of ways.

    I'll admit that I've not been updating as much as I could be so I'll share this recent creation of mine. You can expect to see them in V6 in all sorts of places. This example is simply for show and likely will not reflect the final result. There are more types of new trees and bushes in the works.
