Is this a new law or a change to a current law: This is a new law.

What law do you wish to change/add: 12.15: Any moving vehicle should keep at least one car length distance from other vehicles in normal traffic, two car lengths while on the highway.

Why should this change/addition be made: People don't seem to understand that tailgaiting is an incredibly stupid and dangerous practice in traffic. Currently when you pull someone over for it, all you can really do is give them an informal warning as it's not explicitly against the law.

What is the aim of this change/addition: To heavily cut back on the amount of rear endings that happen regularly in Paralake, and to ensure safer driving.

Additional Information: N/A

I feel this law is not needed as tailgating can already be classed as driving without due care and attention. Although a lot of people who don't drive wouldnt know this, I'm sure something can be put in the handbook in regards to this.

Issue is, what defines a "car length", you would have to set a logical standard as you have length of an escalade to the length of a Mini

Instead of this, we could have it like the German law.

Your current speed (km/h)/2= Your minimum distance from the vehicle in front of you.

Yet again, this will be most likely rarely used as you can not exactly calculate distances within PERP. And the law suggested by Riekelt would bring a lot of "officer's discretion", and we know how everyone loves discretion.
