This is a new law.
What law do you wish to change/add:
2.3: Right to flee danger
Citizens who have had to use force to defend themselves do not have to remain on the scene of the incident if doing so would put their life in further danger, on the terms that they notify emergency services of the incident as soon as possible, and fully comply with further investigation. Citizens who are in this situation must head to the Police station upon doing so to provide a statement to investigating officers.
Why should this change/addition be made:
I’ve seen countless people arrested who killed someone in self defence, then had to flee to avoid more people killing them, resulting in the user who defended themselves getting arrested or chased and apprehended by force.
What is the aim of this change/addition:
So people who shot someone in self defence who is at risk of further harm by accomplices of the downed attacker aren’t assumed suspects and arrested on the pretence that they fled the scene of the crime.
