Is this a new law or a change to a current law:

Change to 7.3.

What law do you wish to change/add:

7.3 Possession of Offensive Weapons

Any person who is in possession of any offensive weapon in a public area without a reasonable excuse commits an offence. Offensive weapons include, but are not necessarily limited to the following, firearms, baseball bats, knives, machetes, or improvised/adapted items with the intent to harm or cause damage. Offensive weapons may be carried in the forest area for the purpose of personal protection.

Misdemeanor - liable to 2 years maximum imprisonment, $2,500 maximum fine and asset forfeiture.

Why should this change/addition be made:

Realistically the forest would have animals which might be dangerous and / or tasty. Furthermore, from a realistic and gameplay perspective, The forest is a large, secluded, difficult to navigate area with a lot of visual cover and almost no life alert zone coverage, meaning 911 messages and the ensuing police response time is hampered greatly. Finally, due to the aforementioned point about visual cover and how secluded and rarely traveled it is, police rarely (if ever) patrol forest meaning the likelihood of getting caught lacking is amplified by the fact that it’s both unlikely you’ll receive immediate assistance or be found in zip ties in any reasonable time frame.

What is the aim of this change/addition:

It’s technically illegal to fish armed in hicktown as you are armed but not inside your property. This addition aims to make it safer to walk around or drive around forest without the added risk of police seizing your weapon.

easier to raid forest if u can open carry
Police don’t patrol the forest enough for them to be a viable threat to a raiding party until the raid is actually called in. They’ll almost never catch someone about to raid. They do, however, upon arriving in forest, almost always harass hicktown fisherman to store their weapons or face seizure despite them doing a profitable, legal act within a rarely policed, difficult to reach area, and only being a stone throw away from their actual property.

This really is a great idea, only for concealed weapons though. It could also only be allowed for citizens who own properties in the forest or take part of a property.
