What law do you wish to change/add:

7.3 Possession of Offensive Weapons​

Why should this change/addition be made: As the current law is citizens are not allowed to conceal carry pistols unless they are transporting them to from point A to point B correctly. I find that in many situations a civilian is able to defend themselves with a pistol from any robberies or assaults only by breaking law by illegally possessing a weapon. I have seen many situations of citizens walking around in dangerous areas with pistols only to have them taken by PD because it still a law break at the end of the day. Citizens if coming into contact with law enforcement officers should be required to inform them they are carrying a pistol on them if the law is to be voted in. In order to balance this citizens should only be required to inform police if the police stop them for investigation purposes only and police can't do a full search of the person only have the person disarm themself during the duration of the investigation.



What is the aim of this change/addition: It will allow them to freely carry a pistol on them to protect themselves in case something happens and they won't have to have the chance of losing the firearm if its found out they are in possession of one therefor allowing citizens to protect themselves even more without worry of any legal repercussions.



Additional Information: I know a similar suggestion was made a while guy for carrying firearms in the forest only but i feel it will be more beneficial for it to be city wide and for it to be concealed pistols.

I don't think the issue is the people that don't know the conceal carry laws. The issue is actually that people that know them too well...

If people are worried about it being abused by criminals, make the CCW permit difficult to get by making an application through PLPD.online for it, and if it revoked by the police due to criminal activities, you are barred from getting a new permit for a certain period of time, a week maybe. This would deter it's use for criminals and allow some law abiding 2nd amendment RP.

Most experienced players know the laws have some minor things in them that can be exploited.

The chop shop mission actually is a funny thing. If you pull over the officers can't hold anything against you, except at most 10.1.

Why? Because law 11.6 Theft states:

Any person who dishonestly appropriates any possession belonging to another person commits a criminal offence.

The car doesn't belong to anyone when the ANPR is run or sometimes it pops up as your own car. It's a grey area.

This would be a fair one, but essentially there would be practically no one actively using a CCW permit since most if not all civilians RP as criminals, meaning sooner or later they would get revoked. Additionally who would approve these? And what would the approval entail?

Genuinely I think we're trying to solve a problem that is non-existent. If you carry a concealed gun, unless you commit any criminal offense officers won't even know it's on you. If you lose your concealed gun right now it's most likely due to:

a) Loitering around a shootout or partaking in it by trying to stay low on the cop's radar​

b) Going unconscious whilst transporting it​

c) Committing a crime, where asset forfeiture applies and being searched (or being taken to jail, where you will be searched)​

d) An officer actually committing an offense by illegally searching you​

The law 7.3 states "Any person who is in possession of any offensive weapon in a public area without a reasonable excuse commits an offence."

Contrary to popular belief.. You can in fact possess a weapon in public if you believe your life is threatened (Laws 2.1, 2.2). But you should take precaution and leave the area unless that's not possible to do.

People already exercise their 2nd amendment a bit too much. Hence why the #StoreIt campaign is even taking place. And also the reason for the prize pool being that high so it's heavily enforced.

I disagree but like the sentiment. Having pistols or small-arms be permitted to be carry in public if concealed is a nice idea but I believe a mistake if put into practice. It encourages a firearm state even further than what the city is already like. It can also potentially impact safety greatly.

Ideas of licensing are nice but problematic. Who is going to control it? Who is going to take the time to manage and enforce it? The ban on firearms outside of private property only fails to protect people selling drugs or fishing really. Most of the places you can be robbed are in areas you have no reason to be in unless you're committing a crime.

This suggestion requires a huge reform in law, policy, policing, possibly development with some ideas and just isn't necessary in my opinion.
