Description of the idea: Add a use for the library, primarily being able to read books to earn XP to certain skills or maybe even enhance them.
This feature would allow newer players to passively increase skills by sitting down at the library by choosing a book to read and levelling up a certain skill such as Firearms, Repair, Stamina or any other that is available. A small mini-game should be implemented in order to prevent farming and keeping user interaction a necessity. Time required to gain a certain amount of XP and enhancement is up for discussion.
Enhancements would be unlocked by already having a maxed out skill. They would only provide minor but noticable difference(s) to a skill.
E.g. for stamina it could be something like 5% more stamina regenerated while also increasing the amount of stamina gained from drinking stamina regaining drinks such as soda, coffee or water. (If I recall correctly, coffee regains 20% stamina, this would be 25%. Water gives you 25%, it would then instead give 30% to your stamina.)
For Firearms it would be faster crafting speed or maybe even equip/de-equipping time.
For swimming it would be increased swim speed or having a accuracy boost with weapons while inside water.
Enhancements should probably cost a bit to acquire, I'm thinking about the 100K per book as they are quite unique, if it would be cheap every one would an enhancement (see: license plates). Books that give you XP should probably be free.
Maybe limit the amount of enhancements you can have active as well, probably 1 at all times so players would have to make a good decision which skill to actually enhance and to use, choosing another enhancement would reset your current enhancement and you'd have to go through the progress all over and spend money again. This way you won't have every skill enhanced and switching back and forth all the time.
Why should this be added? (pros): Would help never players level up skills and have those end-game players give another bonus that isn't too imba/OP.
What negatives could this have? (cons): Veterans might get a smaller edge over in certain situations.
*Other additions: Add Chess for the library.
