Brief description of idea: Remove the activity requirement and replace it with a purge where officers who have been inactive for 2-6 months get removed from their position in the PD with the ability of being reinstated within a month/week.

What benefits would this idea have for the department: A huge bonus to this is no longer being forced to play for 6/8 hours a month. The whole point some people are inactive is due to the fact that they're temporarily bored of perp, and are taking a short break. Having to make LOAs every two or three months is ridiculous.

What potential negatives could this have for the department: A less active PD, which is honestly only a negative for a short time. Mainly because people will eventually want to hop back on again later.

Other additions:
Optionally add a warning head of time via PM (standardized and automated preferably) that you're about to be removed from the PD to give them a chance to hop on and show some activity. Minimum one or two hours, something like that.

We had a policy board meeting about this however from what I recall my original idea was just skipped over and instead went straight to reducing the amount of hours required per month. The replies had some good suggestions but due to the "confidentiality policy" and the nature of these messages being more classified than anything the FBI has on Hillary Clinton, I can't reveal them. Maybe I'll try contact SMT and the individuals for permission to reveal the responses by various command members.

I still stand with my original idea which is quite similar to Exnems. If you have a command member who isn't actively playing on the server in general for a plethora of months and you can notice that the quality of their command work or any administrative duties is decreasing, you can take action on it. It really isn't hard to enforce something like this and we don't need hours to tell us who's active on the server.

I personally find that being forced to play during times when the server has nothing going on, or when the server is just generally cancer, results in me getting my minimum 8 hours but it really drains my interest in the PD which results in me not coming on again for most of the next month and the cycle continues

I think removing the playtime requirement would remove a lot of stress on people about getting their playtime which would make the PD feel like a fun environment rather than just a chore or job that they have no choice but to do, which I think would actually result in a higher police count over time.

One month I feel like I want to get 50 hours on duty. The next month I can’t be bothered to play at my usual hours where it’s 8/50 at best

Perp pd has gotten so bad it had to start forcing people to play. But you know. The PD is at it's best.

if you’re a section supervisor and inactive i would see some sort of an issue regarding activity, but even so, sections are useless.

If your command role consists of academy server work or PLPD.online work, then you should be judged on how you do that role on the respective mediums that role requires you to use. As long as you haven’t completely abandoned the PLPD like a sinking ship then I don’t see an issue with this.

On top of this, if maintaining activity on the main server is an issue then why and how did particular command members hold there ranks for so long? I was told that it was because they still did work outside of the main server, but others have made the claim that they’ve done work outside the server and still gotten activity warnings.

Last month due to low playercount I was unable to get a slot to fulfil my hours whenever I wasn’t doing irl duties like Xmas shopping and family events and as a result got an activity warning. the month before that I reached my quota and the month before that the quota was temporarily disabled due To low server population. However, the month I got an activity warning, I partook in a training session for patrol, partook in a TFU stage 2 and a stage 3, and met my observation report quota, and still got told my on server activity is unacceptable and that I shall receive an activity warning. Everyone I’ve spoken to about this, including current command members, all mutually agreed that this is absolutely preposterous and completely counter intuitive.

If you’re meeting your observation report quota then theres absolutely no reason or justification to further turn PLPD server duties into chores. From the outside (and I’ve spoken to friends IRL about the PD and they’ve pointed this out), it simply appears as if the PD command are trying to give people fear based incentive to play the server regularly, giving people what is essentially a fear of losing a virtual police rank they feel as though they worked hard to get, when in reality, almost nothing in the PD actually matters beyond the server itself.

So, in conclusion to this, I feel as though if you’re going to be putting any “necessary hours” into the PD if you’re short on the ability to actually play the server, it should be put to good use, and as such, I propose we replace the activity requirements with an observation report requirement, and only consider activity when it comes to promoting an officer.

The PD as a whole has gotten to a point where developers are taking an idea to completely revert the PD seriously with an overwhelmingly large community response supporting this proposition. This shows that the community is generally as a whole fed up with how pen and paper the PD is becoming, and that the sooner changes are made, the better.

I have to agree, we should just remove the requirement and make it so anyone who holds a CPL+ rank should be monitored via Observation reports. I don't have issues meeting the hours but I feel coming on duty is more of a chore than an enjoyment. Some people struggle to get the hours done. People should also be judged on what they do on the website. Admin work etc.

Wdym Observation reports. I literally have to beg people so I can make obs reports and people still don't want 'em.

Just hand them out to people who do good on patrol. Just observe them during situations.

Atleast have some kind of activity requirement to the people who do complaints, I have a PLPD complaint on me for shooting Tom in the jail cells at 11pm when we were like 6-8 people on the server from the 20th of January that still hasn't had an investigator assigned to it. I'm suspended and can't go cop something I enjoy on PERP quite a lot but that's not possible for me because of the PD being inactive =)

Pretty sure thats a breach of their policy. I think it has to have a response within 3 days and done within 6. Thats how I remember it at least iirc.

Then remove my complaint or something, get rid of the people in-charge who are inactive on the server like fucking Momo. The most useless person ever, the guy probably doesn't even know we moved on from EvoCity at this point.

@John Daymon There's nothing about assignment but alot of investigators are in 'Busy'. From what I last saw. I'd suggest making a ticket to IA.

How do you know there’s a complaint on you if there Isn’t an assigned officer to send you a statement request???

It tells you in open complaints @BigBenji ... Also, I can remove your suspension, contact Chiefs/PSD and IA regarding this issue.
