Are there any graphic commands that arent allowed?

I use an autoexec from the steam guide "Garrys mod for potato pcs" and when I join the server I cant move and I cant use the chat, I can still pull out my phone and use items from my inventory but thats it. When I go back to default setting the server works just fine, is there a specific command that is causing this or is it something else?

use the correct beta branch for 64-bit. If this crashes your game use the one that's an update behind...

If this one's it then over 80% of these commands are invalid, some aren't even used for in-game but for compilers. You should only use the ones Pugga posted really, any other command would only do more harm than good.

A lot of these commands got removed in July's update like fastzreject because they apparently didn't even do anything.

r_3dsky, r_drawdetailprops, r_shadows and the multicore commands are the only thing that really matter at the moment to be honest.

Remove -d3d9ex

you don't need many launch options and you can use these without issues unless you need a controller

-nojoy -nosteamcontroller -particles 1 -no_texture_stream -precachefontchars -noquicktime

Can you even move in single player? Those parameters do fuck-all but shouldn't nessesarily cause you to not be able to move

I cant get rid of my old config, I thought I did because i edited the autoexec but I checked the console and the old changes are still there. I deleted cfg and verified my game files and even reinstalled gmod but the settings still didnt change.

Make sure you actually empty the file, then save it. Ensure that whatever you're saving it with is launched as Administrator. If you delete it, steam will repair it with your old contents sometimes. There is also a .bat file in the garry's mod folder called factory-reset-gmod. you can run that too.

You can reset your entire Garry's Mod, keybinds, settings and other changes made with .cfg's if you leave this in your launch options

-autoconfig -default +host_writeconfig config.cfg full +mat_savechanges +quit

Launch once and make sure to remove those again after it quits by itself.
Also make sure to disable Steam cloud sync so it doesn't download another autoexec it has saved from the cloud.

I dont know what I did to make it work but I can move now even though I have the old config, but still, thanks for all the help.

I figured it out, it was because I wasnt using my pcs native resolution. Idk why it was causing me to not be able to move but using my native resolution fixes it.
