PRELUDE

Hi.
If your game is glitching, or have errors everywhere, then you're in the right place!

If you have addons you don't want to uninstall or disable, then this guide may have limited positive effect on your game!
INSTALLING OUR CONTENT

Here's the easiest part.
Install our content pack using this link. You may need to log in to steam if you're opening it in your web browser.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158185405

Once your download has completed, you can proceed to the next steps.
FIXING YOUR CONTENT

To start fixing your game, it is highly recommended you uninstall all of your addons.
There are two ways to completely unsubscribe from all of your addons at once, illustrated below.

After having followed one of the methods above, quit your game, then purge your Garry's Mod folder of any remaining downloaded content.

You can right click your game in your library, click properties, local files and then "Browse" to be taken directly to your Garry's Mod directory.

Now click on the "garrysmod" folder and open it, and then you're ready for the next step.

With your Garry's Mod directory open, select the following folders by holding CTRL and clicking on them to select several at once:
"addons"
"download"
"maps"
"models"
"materials"
In the "Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod" directory like so:

After selecting all of them, hit delete.

Deleting these folders will remove any files that steam failed to remove.
If you don't have one or more of these folders, it's not a problem, just delete the rest.

After doing this you can launch Garry's Mod and join the server.

END & Tips
Looking to join the server?
You can:

- Open your console and type "connect perpheads.com" (without quotes)

- Join using the server browser, legacy or otherwise,

- Or you can copy this fancy link and paste it into any browser to connect directly to the server.

If you're running Garry's Mod in "64 bit chromium", you may be unable to open your console in the main menu, simply start a sandbox game then open the console, or join via a friend from your friends list.

This guide has received several silent updates since it was released.
This post will continue updating as the guide receives further changes.

First update, 16/10/20.
- Improved formatting.
Second update, 17/10/20.
- Spelling corrections, inserted links to help.perpheads.com for obtaining CS:S without steam.
Third update, 5/5/21.
- Further quality of life improvements, made it a little easier to read the guide. Changed the title to be more appealing to users with problems.
Fourth update, 15/5/21.
- Title has changed once again.
- Visual overhaul.
- Old and outdated information has been purged, including the Counter-Strike: Source content segment as it has become obsolete with the release of V5.
- Relevant info has been simplified while still remaining informative.
- Added some more descriptions and made the guide more thorough in actually guiding you through the process. Before this update, the guide would assume you knew your way around Garry's Mod. Now it'll give you some more fleshed out descriptions of how to reach folders as described, and even how to connect to the server via the console.

As a bonus, this thread can now be viewed from mobile with minimal problems due to its formatting. You may need to scroll a little, but it's viewable.
Fifth update, 25/5/21
- The guide is now live at https://help.perpheads.com/page/content. Check it out!
Sixth update, 30/6/21
- The name of the guide has changed to "Content Guide" in order to match help.perpheads.com's title.
- The content guide banner has been imported from help.perpheads.com, and placed at the top of the guide.
Seventh update, 13/9/21
- Guide has been shortened, useless filler has been purged to ease on reading time.
[NEW] Eight update, 20/1/22
- End of support notification. Check out help.perpheads.com for an updated version.

@curak Correct. I have feeling like you said, but only one, and at all times.

Total emptiness.

@roxie But if the information in that link doesn't help, this thread exists to fully fix Gmod. All https://help.perpheads.com/page/content says is to disable addons.

Conflicting content

Some users experience issues with models not displaying correctly, this is usually down to conflicting Garry's Mod content in the form of workshop addons or other content in your 'GarrysMod/models' or Addons folder. Disabling these addons prior to joining the server may fix some of these issues.

But what it doesn't say is that certain content does not like being disabled and remains semi-active, conflicting with perp content regardless. It doesn't make much sense that it happens, but it has for me. This especially applies when you've let a server download content onto your PC which for some unknown reason won't stop conflicting with other servers, even after restarting. I've had this happen and it's a pain in the ass to figure out if you know nothing about it. So while I understand your point, there's a valid reason this thread exists.

@Exnem In other words, since Tyla Jai is the Community Manager's Assistant, I was telling him a page like that already existed, and needed only to be updated. So if he wanted to, he could/would do it
