Crashing

So I've recently been playing perp and when I was cop my screen froze in the middle of bazaar for about 2 minutes and I was in full screen. I waited 2 minutes to find it said hl2.exe wasn't responding so I closed it. Then the same thing happened today in regals for around the same time and said the same hl2.exe isn't responding.

Help?

Could be a problem with CPU, how long has it been happening for
