So for a long time ive been having disk write errors when installing my gmod on to my /d drive. So today i spent a little while investigating the problem, and for those who has the problem here is how i fixed it.
So what i did was i went into my Steamapps folder in my D drive (D:\Games\steamapps\) And went to Downloading. What i found was that alode of the Patch files didn't have full permission to write onto my drive. To fix this, go on properties, then on the "security" tab go onto the user you are currently on (Mine is listen as Congo-PC). It will most likely be Users.
Now, give it full control and it will tick all boxes it needs. Do that on all the patch files and try to download the game again.
It will most likely give you another error message with a pacific file name, go to that file and do the same you have done to the patch files.
Hope this helps anyone with the same issue as i had
