Suggestion Title: Dispatcher 911 Call Priority.
Suggestion Description: When there are multiple dispatchers on duty, like there has been an increase of recently, you all have your own roles. This being the Radio Operator, Incident Dispatcher or Administrative Operator as per policy.
When you are set to the role of answering all 911 calls, this is currently not possible due to it randomly going to a specific dispatcher. For example, the dispatcher in charge of answering radio communication with officers should not receive the 911 calls as then they are unable to communicate with the police force.
I would like to suggest having a checkbox for being a "primary call taker" on the dispatcher dashboard, and then if one is selected calls will prioritise going to the dispatchers that have this enabled so they can complete their duties as normal.
Why should this be added?:
- This would be a lot better for the Dispatcher role, as currently it is very annoying for having multiple dispatchers on at a time and trying to perform your specific duties. It does not make sense for a "primary call handler" to be in the policy, but no way to become one.
What negatives could this have?:
- N/A
What problem would this suggestion solve?: As mentioned above, this will make the workflow of Dispatching much easier. Also it will align better with the Dispatcher Roles in the handbook.
