Today - August 1st 2016, 12:00 GMT+1 a new era begins.
Hello everyone!
On the 6th of May I received a letter which contained a call-up paper.
Conscription is compulsory enlistment for state service, typically into the armed forces.
However, I wasn't forced to join - I volunteered myself. That decision gave me the opportunity to influence when and where I want to serve.
To me the choice was fairly easy. I've always known that I want to work with fire and rescue (I've known this since the age of 12). The Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) offers 9 months of conscription. Once I'm done serving I'll be certified as firefighter, rescue specialist and much more. I'll be accommodated at one of DEMA's fire and rescue centres in Denmark.
In some weekends it will be possible for me to return home. I'm required to remain at the fire and rescue centre in case of increased preparedness level, exercises, prolonged incidents, or simply availability (stand-by awaiting call-outs) etc. However, I will most likely prioritize real life, friends and family over Garry's mod.

I'd like to thank every single one of you for making this the best Garry's Mod community! I've been here since November 2013 and I've had some great experiences with amazing people. I'll never forget it. I don't want to become too emotional but I'll miss you all. There are simply too many people I consider close IC/OOC friends to mention but they know who they are <3 ;-; I'm looking forward to return once in a while during my conscription! <3
