Suggestion Title: Increase RTU traffic cone limit
Suggestion Description: Increase the limit for traffic equipment (cones, barriers, signs) for certified Road Traffic Officers in gear from 15 to 20. This does not affect any other limits (the max number of road closed barricades is still 4).
Why should this be added?:
+ Reduces the common occurrence of having to pick up important cones and barriers because 15 is sometimes not enough to give advance warning and close roads/lanes safely
+ Allows more comprehensive traffic control, such as contraflow systems, lane narrowing, and diversions
+ Drivers are bad at interpreting gaps in cones, so more density is good which this can facilitate in some situations
+ This can already be done by just buying and placing one’s own cone props, but is much more hassle and doesn’t cover the whole range of signage
+ This was previously suggested in V5, but is newly relevant in V6 due to increased vehicle speeds, longer and wider highways, and response and road clearing times being longer
What negatives could this have?:
- The availability of cones may encourage unnecessary spam, but this is easily counteracted by RTU officers being held to policy.
- Additional cones on the highway causing performance issues? Again this is already possible by placing your own cones down/grouping with other officers but is more hassle
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Running out of cones when handling scenes due to the larger scale of V6 compared to the 15-cone limit designed for V5.
