Main Idea: Replace the Business Walkway hedge with trees that spread out across the length of the walkway.

Full description of the idea: Simply just replace the big hedge, which blocks the view into the business shops and reduces traffic, with trees and lamps spread out across the length of the walkway, which would still block vehicles from entering the foot path.

Why should it be added?: Currently, most business shops are ignored, even when people drive by. Increasing visibility by removing the hedge would give the Business Shops more use.

Pros: Better visibility.

Cons: Increased chance for vehicles entering the foot path. (Shouldn't happen since trees and lamps/bollards should be placed close enough together that they block vehicles from entering. In any case, bollards can be placed, as a last resort)

*Other additions: Add more lights inside the business shops so it's properly lit. This corner is extremely dark.

And add lamps alongside the business walkway that light up at night, so the foot-path is easier to see.

Actually really like this idea, business shops feel so isolated right now.

Maybe the high hedge could be kept up untill business shop 1, this way it still blocks sight onto the monorail and the benches, but the business shops are more open for actual business?

You can’t even mug people in that space anymore as it’s a public space where there’s no longer a drug dealer.

Im referring to storefront robberies.

It also deters people from trying to drive on the pavement. The trees would stop people being able to drive on it but you know someone’s gonna try fucking turning their car around by reversing onto it.

the purpose of the shops is to allow people to sell things, not to allow people to rob them. It's insanely unrealistic for shops to have their front blocked from view of the road they're on, and frankly you shouldn't be mugging someone within view of the sidewalk either, as it's still public view, even if that view is reduced. It seems pretty stupid to me from a design point to make the shops less effective as shops to make people more effective at robbing the shops.
