Suggestion Title: Meth buff
Suggestion Description: At the moment of writing this Meth is very underwhelming to do and ive got a few reasons why and hopefully a couple solutions to this. Meth is currently the most expensive drug to get started on, it takes the most focus to do and has the highest risk to it AND is outdone by coke in terms of money, efficiency, and difficulty.

Now for a couple solutions (maybe)

- Simply make meth sell for more.

- make meth not take as long to produce.

- Reduce the price of buying the ingredients Lye, starch, ephedrine, matches, ethyl ether propane tanks etc.

With that being said i like the idea of having a drug that has significant risk to it, the only problem though is that i feel that if the risk is higher the pay should be too which it sadly is not atm.

Why should this be added?:
- Switching up the meta and making for a more exciting gameplay loop instead of just spamming coke all the time forever.

What negatives could this have?:
- I honestly dont know what negatives this could have apart from having to balance it and dev time obviously.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: Coke being the BY FAR best drug to produce without it even being a debate.

This is a very good idea, i tried making meth myself the other day, i timed it in 17 min i could get 25k from meth while in 17 min i got 75k from drying coke

I did some math on this months ago but forgot to save it but i remember being very shocked about the amount of money coke makes compared to meth especially with the risk and the amount it costs to start doing meth!
 
I like the idea, meth has always been the hardest and riskiest drug to make, but it doesn’t really pay off. If you just make coke, which is much easier, you’ll make twice the money.
 
I personally think that the amount of money that is made with drugs is ungodly compared to what it used to be and a drug buff, especially meth, wont solve anything in terms of player economy, it will just fill the pockets of bigger orgs so people can buy another supercar.

Meth should NOT be buffed as right now you can combine it while growing other drugs and make it actually super OP. You start doing meth batches while growing leaves, after that when your meth materials run out you start drying until it comes time to start cooking again.
Not to mention the more XP you get for your org when doing it as mentioned in a previous thread that also suggested Meth Buff.

please familiarize yourselves with it, it might help you understand a lot about how drugs are balanced, and why meth probably will not get buffed.
 
Coke should be nerfed, not meth getting buffed, making money as crim is already easy enough and there is very little risk as well as there being barely any interaction with the system, worst case scenario you lose a 20k gun and 30 minutes waiting to reclaim your planters while you're literally making 200k/hour (even more if you aren't regrowing coke leaves and instead grow weed).

The problem @Mage and @..... raised are my main concern here. Drugs give a lot of money already compared to all other sources of income, and for this reason there's no plans to buff a specific drug.

This being said, I do like the shift of balance/meta and I would like to hear your opinions (even though I am pretty sure I know what the answer will be) on potentially nerfing coke so that meth becomes more interesting

I see what the 3 of you are saying about drugs making alot of money but why shouldnt it, its the most risky way of making money?

Now about nerfing coke i would be all for - provided that another drug gets a buff in return for me i dont really care what drug is the meta i would just like to see the meta change once in a while.

I think rather than having a meta shift through nerfing drugs it may be more valuable to increase the pay that some other money making methods bring or adding more methods to increase variance.
 
Even if meth was equal or slightly better, people would still choose to produce coke because it's so much easier. I would champion a "temperature limiter" device that lets you lock or limit the temperature of drugs up to a certain point (for balance reasons, perhaps slightly less than optimal meth cooking temperatures)
 
If meth made more money id do meth 10000%
Meth already drops $250 per unit sold and can be optimised to give you like 60 units per beaker dried. Combine this with growing coca plants and you’re already able to make significant amounts of money per session as is. With ephedrine and other better ingredients you can already make huge batches in no time. Even Sudafed with the right ingredients is a fine yield.

There’s a lot of confusion with meth and some players don’t realise either that in some cases more expensive ingredients doesn’t always give a yield that pays off. The art of it isn’t cramming the most expensive ingredients into it, the art is finding out which ingredients produce what qualify (which determines your yield) at the lowest possible cost and running with it.

Produce 2 batches at once, with a planter full of something else on the side. Keep making beakers of liquid meth, don’t bother drying it out until you’ve got several beakers full. Then, when you have sufficient amounts of liquid meth, you’ve run out of beakers, or don’t want to produce anymore start drying it out 2 by 2.

I mean it still takes about 15 minutes without drying

Youre missing the point what he means by 1 batch is the 2 spots on the chem table.
