Suggestion Title: Petty ATM Theft
Suggestion Description: A dark web mission will be made. A simple job about hitting an ATM (Requires 3+ Cops on duty).
The contractor assigns the job to you, "the fixer," and sms messages you
"Job starts now. ATM at <INSERT LOCATION>—model NCR 6684. Power grid drops for 10 minutes. You’ll have that window to breach and extract. Take only the top cassette. No heat if you’re clean. Entry code: <**** - 4 digit code>. Don’t be seen. Don’t contact me again."
The ATM at that location now becomes robbable by the perp.
The criminal would bring crowbars to an ATM and attempt to successfully lockpick it.
Upon successful breach of the ATM, the ATM alarm will trigger.
The player will now have a metal box full of cash, worth 4-6k of cash. But the box is pinging to Dispatch. Police will be notified via Government Chat and by Dispatcher (if one is on duty) of the perp's exact location every 5 seconds so long as the Criminal is holding onto the cash box.
The Criminal must now avoid police custody for the following 5 minutes until pings stop and the tracker dies.
If failed, the police can search the criminal to confiscate the stolen box and charge the suspect with any one of these crimes:
1) Burglary (Potentially aggravated if armed)
2) Theft
3) Causing Alarm and Distress
4) Disobeying lawful orders
5) Failing to yield
6) Vandalism
However, If the criminal succeeds in escaping Police and staying low, the tracker will eventually die. This allows the criminal to left click it in their inventory to open it and a loading bar will show for 30 seconds. After opening it, a detailed description in the chat will explain
/me the cassette opens and <Insert amount of money> flows out.
Now the cash is in the criminals' pocket to take home.
The mission will now be locked until the next hour.
Why should this be added?:
- Fun to have getaway chases for both Police and Gangs
- Keeps players engaged, giving them something to do besides raiding or camping DD to mug
- Gives Road Traffic Officers a unique crime they can regularly respond to, as a counterpart to how TFU has regular raids.
- Helps make low player count hours less dead and more lively.
- Fills up the roster of things on the Dark Web list
- Gives players a fresh way to interact with the world
- Gives dispatchers another thing to do.
What negatives could this have?:
- Police being pre-occupied with raids to respond and someone gets 5k for free.
- Criminals shooting anyway over $5,000
- Potentially Unfair for cops when there is no RTU to chase down someone with a hyper-car, which I am not sure how to fix.
What problem would this suggestion solve?: Criminals who don't want to shoot people are left with only power growing and crafting, which both are just passive and afk activities that don't keep the player engaged. The job allows for criminals and police to have situations rely more on driving finesse over being a better shooter as this crime should involve NO shooting by itself. Furthermore, I think it would be best to make it so the crime has only a short cooldown rather than being once a day like Chop Shop due to it's rather low payout compared to all other incomes.
