Main Idea: Officers will be able to pick up vehicle equipment from the PD to use while on patrol
Full description of the idea: Officers will be able to collect a gas can and a wrench from the NPC in the PD. Originally it was going to be in the trunk, however I did not realise that that would mean regular officers may have access to the shotguns in higher ranked officer's storage. With the introduction of White-listed officers, they may be trusted with access to shotguns (but of course not allowed to use them), however that is a decision that should be up to the higher ranks within the PD / server owners and administrators.
Why should it be added?: There have been many times when during a chase or responding to an emergency, an officer has ran out of fuel, or crash their vehicle, completely putting them out of action until an available Officer or Road Crew arrives to assist. I feel that adding this will prevent officers from being stuck out on the highway or in the middle of forest for long periods of time, and help them carry out their duties more efficiently.
Pros:
- If they run out of fuel during an emergency, they won't have to wait an age in order to get some assistance, and will be able to make their way to a gas station with the remaining fuel they have.
- If they wreck their car during an emergency, they also won't have to wait ages in order to get some assistance, and will be able to take it to the roadcrew for full repairs.
Cons:
- As stated by @Aidan|DaleAGaming, Normal Officers may be able to take shotguns out of the trunk if given access. To prevent this, the wrench and fuel canisters could just be available from the NPC inside the PD, rather than being able to take it out of the trunk. However, with the introduction of White-listed officers, they possibly could be trusted to NOT use the shotguns in the trunks.
- As stated by @TheFrozenMonkeyKing, this may impact the already low amount of work that roadcrew have to do, making the job less popular.
