Police/NPC Interaction

Description of the idea: A system for better police to AI interaction, this can be used to assist with investigations and evidence gathering. Right now if we wish to speak to an NPC for evidence this is done through /me which can occasionally be abused and people may lie. With this (arguably too excessive) suggestion that removes this and makes it so the NPC gives their account directly to the player.

Why should this be added? (pros):
+ Prevents lying with /me
+ Better investigation/evidence gathering

What negatives could this have? (cons):
- A certainly difficult implementation

*Other additions:
- CCTV Enquiries
- Witness Enquiries for assaults/broken windows

For assaults, create a log of any punching within a radius of like 15m. For windows a log would be created of what car hit the window most recently

I don't see how this would benefit anyone other than officers, and for very selfish reasons. You would essentially be removing 50% of the usage of the /me command by doing this and most of the reason for /desc existing, on top of that it gives criminals another reason to be afk while they get arrested. You can already shove them in your car automatically, kick them out automatically, drag them AND get evidence automatically via DNA without a SINGLE INPUT from the guy who shot john doe's friend jack doe over there.

Interesting idea but damage isn’t already logged and idk if there is a good reason for this

The /me feature in PERP is only ever supposed to be used as a replacement for something that can not be acted out or shown by in-game feature. I am not sure what your point is here? Ideally we should never have to use /me's but however due to limitations we can not.

Players should not be going AFK during roleplay situations therefor if this happens it should be reported. That is not a reason to not add a feature? If anything this would improve and deepen a roleplay situation.

Nice idea on pen and paper but it’d be kinda OP, would invalidate threatening NPCs to not report crimes, and would overall be a huge fuss to make, that is, if it were even possible.

You could maybe make it so NPCs remember warranted suspects and will tell you if and when they have interacted with them recently or not, which would probably be entirely doable but pointless.

While I don't really think this idea is doable, while it could be nice it would effectively be giving cops access to certain logs and there could be some kind of system where if an NPC is threatened with a gun they could delete the log from memory so it can't be reported a bit like how the jails are opened maybe.

This could go with my suggestion on NPCs reporting shots if they aren’t threatened not to do so. Police could interact with the NPC after Shots are reported and the NPC will say “It was a / an (race) (gender) with a (weapon used)! Hurry and find them officer!”
