Rain in perp

Is there still the thunder sound and the lights when its raining in perp? If not why did they remove it

Thunder and lightning was removed but I'm not sure why, they added quite the cozy mood while you were inside a house.

I would like a volume meter in the options that allow you to turn down the volume of the rain but not mute it completely.
