Brief description of idea: Currently the role of head of Gen ops has been to monitor both mine and @McGlinchy 's divisions exactly how we currently do, plan promotion meetings, Promotion system, OR's ect. However, I really don't think this role is needed at all. The role of Gen Ops can easily be filled by SMT and the chiefs as me and McGlinchy tend to run divisions seperately with training ect however meet once every 2 weeks for a promotion meeting. I don't see this role being filled having any benefit to what we're currently doing with each division tbh. Anything Head Of Gen Ops does can be done by SMT, I think this rank really isn't needed imo and should be removed as we've downsized the police command.
What benefits would this idea have for the department:
-People don't hold pointless ranks.
-Myself and Mcglinchy are able to run our divisions separately
What potential negatives could this have for the department:
-Decision making when disagreements about promotions and the system has to be done by SMT as well as about OR's.
