Suggestion Title: SIG SPEAR
Suggestion Description: Adding the XM7/SIG SAUER SPEAR

6.8x51/ .277 FURY ammunition

This rifle is shown on the test video below

Why should this be added?:
- new gun
- modernizing the arsenal in game
- possible new gun for TFU?
- the gun looks beautiful and might fit some people’s aesthetic
- comes pre-packaged with a suppressor, which makes it stand out as an option to some people as their main weapon

What negatives could this have?:
- currently there is a general preference for either Scar for accuracy or M4 for fire rate. It’s hard what the fire rate, penetration, damage per round and recoil / accuracy of the SPEAR should be.

What problem would this suggestion solve?: N/A

For the most part PERP guns are adaptations of models from older mods. This is a newer rifle, meaning finding someone who has a fully working and animated model of this in the source engine who doesn’t mind it being used and edited by perpheads would be a chore. Old engine, new gun.

That being said the MCX / MPX series of firearms in general would be nice, if a modelling dev can get this working and added I’d be interested in using it.

The suppressor on the MCX spear isn’t actually part of the rifle, only part of the military experimental phase kit-out. Whilst if the rifle is drafted in service it’s probably retaining the use of a suppressor, it isn’t actually permanently affixed to the rifle. The weapon is designed for all intents and purposes to be suppressor ready, but it’s not a permanent part of the gun nor really is there any functional dependency behind its use.

If you specifically want an MCX because of having a built in suppressor added, the MCX Rattler “Canebrake” model, in .300 blk, would be the model filling that purpose, and would also add a new caliber too:

(This is the goofy pistol configuration of the gun because of those wacky American SBR Laws. It does accept a stock just like any other MCX series rifle.)

If any rifles were to be added though and if a modelling developer is willing and capable of doing this I support the idea. I think though that other variants of the MCX could / should be added alongside it. I have faith in the developers to be able to achieve making new weapons.

My knowledge of the gun only goes as far as Escape From Tarkov so excuse me if I sound silly.

The L7AWM magazines hold 20 or 25 (more expensive variant). So it would make sense for the 6.8x51 / 0.277 FURY to slap harder than 5.56 doing MORE damage, stopping power and penetration than a Scar or M4 would do to compensate for the less bullets in the craftable magazines.

In terms of the .300 black out variant however, I can’t speak on personally as I don’t know anything about it.

MCX .300 blackout uses 7.62x51 in terms if EfT, ammo choice usually is mid pen mid damage, however has a slightly greater recoil to compensate for the large bullet size.
It uses a regular stanag mag which basically fits every other weapon.

What? 7.62x51 is G28 or SR25 ammo because it’s intended for DMRs. MCX .300 black out uses .300 black out unless I misunderstood something?

it won't be as much of a hard hitter as G3A3, it's still an assault rifle that will use Rifle rounds instead of the G3A3 which is closer to a Automatic DMR. A more fair comparison would've been to imagine it as if it's like a 7.62 AK-47 stopping power and M4 5.56 Fire rate baby with only 20 or 25 round magazines.
