Main Idea:
To add more realism to the speed enforcer

Full description of the idea: Currently the traffic officer has no weapons at all. This in my opinion is very odd as the police system is based loosely of America where all cops are routinely armed and swat etc. All officer in America including traffic units. Also in addition the traffic enforcement really have no power to do anything except give tickets or minor things they come across like jaywalking or punch ups as if the chase a wanted male and he used any weapon they are rendered useless as they cant counter the threat also if a pursuit turns into a gun fight they cant do anything. In a addition even people with bats and knives are too dangerous to deal with as they could potentially kill you if you get too close using baton. They would still be restricted to traffic duties and incidents they come across so that they still are the traffic enforcement not just other cops. there would be not need for any new models etc as they are already in place just adjust the permissions and potentially rejig the rule on speed enforcers slightly so that they couldn't just piss around since they have a gun now and since they now have a weapon an exam could be put in place to stop the slot being abused. Just remember that people fail to realize, that police officers are officers FIRST and traffic officers SECOND, they are all there to ensure the safety of the community and to get dangerous criminals off the streets and they require the correct equipment to do this safely.

Why should it be added?: I think it should be added as it allows the speed enforcer to appropriately deal with armed and dangerous persons they encounter while conducting traffic duties and that the are police officers first and foremost and traffic officers second and need to be able to deal with incidents safely and effectively.

Pros: -adds more realism
- allows the officers to deal with most situations they encounter
- can assist officers in need if its really needed
- they are still leo's
- could add the interest and potential of the slot

Cons: -people may abuse the slot just to get a gun
- people playing as it may respond to other calls apart from ones they are
permitted to
-there is no exam in place for the SE at this time.

I still disagree with this. As a traffic officer, it is your duty to enforce non-violent traffic laws, in which case a firearm would be excessive. There would no longer be much difference between a regular officer & a traffic officer.

I like the idea of giving traffic officers something to defend themselves with. People fail to realise that even traffic officers deal with dangerous people. For example a traffic officer is pursuing a vehicle that is wanted for whatever reason (hit and run, stolen car etc.). You successfully stop the car only to get shot in the face by the driver. The traffic officer job should face a nice whitelist for this to work though as inexperienced officers will not perform their duties correctly and will deal with stuff like raids or responding to 911s not related to traffic.
