Staff changes in how 3.4 is treated

Wow, look at that! Someone who doesnt benefit anything from saving another human's life by taking it from someone who doesn't deserve it. Isn't that like human nature, something to do with sympathy or something?
QUICK BAN HIM FOR 3.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i mean i really dont know why things are going so shit, lets be honest, we can rant whatever we want but we're not getting anything from it, how many threads did we make again? What was the result?

I always thought there should be more consistency when it comes to ban length, it seems to me your ban length depends on how friendly you are with the mod/admin

Some rules are just inherently too broad
In some ways that is a good thing and a bad thing as it allows situations to develop without too much external force but also the fact that they are based on admin discretion. When staff members' discretions conflict, it would very obviously result in many disgruntled players as the hypothetical (and from my experiences real) situation mentioned earlier, i.e the construction scenario, occurs with many players not knowing up from down because of too many "opinions" on how things like that should be done.

As in differences in punishments, I personally believe not having strict "guidelines" for bans is more advantageous than disadvantageous as it allows to exercise human judgement rather than just say "it says in the book that killing one person for no reason is 3 day ban and you killed 6 people so 6x3= 18 and that is a 3 week ban for you my good friend ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "
Naturally, the judgements enforced by the staff members are also subject to criticism as sometimes it can easily be perceived that sometimes they are just overreaching when it comes to what they ban people for.
false everyone knows staff members are androids not human smh

Deja vu, I've just seen this thread before.

Previously I've been banned myself for shooting some horrible criminals who killed poor (policeman) @Sgt.James with both failed disputes.
Have a look here chums.

Exhibit A
Exhibit B

Apparently it falls under 3.4 as I "gained no personal benefit from it" despite James being a friend of mine, and it seems acceptable if the table were turned (I and James being the crims).

personally, I disagree with the ban - but seeing that the appeals were denied what can I do?

The reason this wasn't made is due to the factor of me not being part of the staff meeting at that time as I was attending a exhibition during the meeting, I however didn't say that I would make the thread and such but I believe that it was discussed as it seemed so on @MrLewis after I questioned him, so quite obviously as you've seen the shoutbox isn't being monitored the same way as it was but it's still being put to a reasonable moderation of discrimination and such.
I do however agree that it was pretty dumb by us to not make the promised thread.

Personally I do agree and disagree with the rule change, as we've seen before it is quite often people take "helping the police" to the extreme where they enter a heated shootout and end up killing a lot of people, which would be illegal however often got away by saying; na im just helping the police man!!! I believe that's what we tried to stop in general. Now why I disagree is because I believe that you should be allowed to help the police to a certain extent where you don't risk your life completely, I remember @Jordan was a civilian once and ran a criminal over as the criminal was gunpointing me as a Police Officer, in those situations and where your life is at risk aswell I believe it should be absolutely fine helping the police.

Personally I do agree
I believe it should be absolutely fine helping the police.
Then why make it so that, yet again, we get punished based upon a staff members beliefs. You believe it's ok if it doesn't risk your life (who doesn't take a risk to save someone else's life? i mean, if some old lady is stuck in a railway track, would you not attempt to help because it risks your life?) and moderator @chickennugget disagrees, i would not be punished but someone else will. why is the staff team, and im talking to @senior+ never noticing this? It's either not allowed AT ALL(which would be retarded) or it is allowed at all times, because this game simulates real life and in real life because nearly everyone would help someone in need.

I think it's a well known fact that staff-player relations have rapidly deteriorated due to the fact there's a massive, massive, massive, lack of communication between the two and I think everyone can agree that this really needs to change. Personally, I feel that most users do not respect staff members based on lack of communication, as well as their own decisions or judgement of other players.

staff team pls fix.

1. If they never geet looked at is not an excuse to make one. Why the fuck should i make one.
2. Completely irrelevant? i can see how many times mine was viewed, i made 2 staff complaints with both taking over a month
3. so whats the point if i never get to know when something is resolved, and, for example i can get a warning finally removed or something.

I think it's retarded that I have to wait till Walker makes a drama thread for me to learn about a rule change that only staff know about. Why is it so hard to make an announcement thread?

Wait, Didn't @Walker make the thread to say "Hey how about when the staff team changes a rule maybe they should tell us rather than warning us for it when we did not even know it was a thing?" I dont think Walker made a "beefy" thread I just think its the case of its turned into a bit of a rant.

Rules have hidden guidelines now?
What a surprise, that's a first.

Bullshit aside, this is the main reason I have started moving away from the path of playing perp anymore, there are so many situations that yet haven't been described as allowed or not, and yet all out of nowhere you get punished for something you didn't even know of.
Jokes

Fuck your "staff discretion", because most of you are all over the place when it comes to placing punishments anyways.
If you don't like my opinion then cry me a river, live with it.

Fix this and I might consider coming back.

In my opinion some staff would much rather to put a big fat punishment on somebody rather than tell him what he did wrong and how to improve on it. It would all get to a point when no one would play simply because they'd get banned/warned/demoted for trying to have fun.
Guys, it's a GAME.
Who cares if he broke rules, if he's doing it to a reasonable extent and not excessively harming anyone.
Like really, let's say Johnny Generico helped officer Regularman by running over/shoooting a criminal that was about to shoot/abduct/etc Regularman. Generico is happy, Regularman is happy, criminal is ok with it.
Yet Generico gets a 6 month ban with a clean record because it's not allowed and "staff discretion"
Something definitely needs to be done

when I joined the server I remember myself running to pd and start punching people for fun, one staff come to me and asked if I am new I told him yes instead of permabanning me like most of the staff will do right now he showed me the whole server with his physgun show me all the server features around the map explained to me how to play so I got interested in playing on the server and stay. Today I just see most of the staff cloak themself try to find people to ban and warn instead of help them and explain them what they doing wrong to avoid getting punishment in the future. as a result from 40 people online on queue server and 75 people on the server that want to play its become from 0 on the queue and 50 on the server I can see where the server going so good luck

The report count for staff forces them to do a certain amount of reports within a specific amount of time. This means staff just want to end the sit as quickly as possible and just dish the bans out.

Staff Discretion = Have staff had a good day or did someone call them a smelly willy at school and trigger there vietnam war-afflicted PTSD.

Staff need a set Agenda to follow.

Man got banned for car bombing the person who mugged me... makes sense you know.

Slightly Off topic:
I'm sure you're all aware of 'highway camping' being a tactic for enforcers to catch those who run across the highway, and those who jump the intersection red light. This is a way for them to prove that they can enforce the rules I guess.

What is the community's attitude towards moderators waiting in no-clip above the intersection to catch and question those who jump the light? I was stopped the other day for doing so (naturally with a valid reason for jumping them) and I was somewhat torn between appreciating the moderators vigilance and being annoyed by the inconvenience and the fact that it's a very 'cheap' way of adding warnings to your count, and we all know that this is used as a measure of staff activity.
