I think it’s time the roleplay issue was talked about properly.
Within the last few months i have seen continuous posts talking about the “death of roleplay” and that “roleplay is dying”.
I think that the biggest issue is clear, those people who take the time to post on the forums expressing how they feel about roleplay do not take the time to actually attempt to roleplay themselves.
I have seen, and continue to see people roleplaying that others do not mention.
Players such as those involved in the Road traffic checkpoint posted by Kuba, The fentanyl Yoga Race and all the other individualists who stand out and actually try to input roleplay into situations.
If people spent less time talking on the forums about these issues and went into the server to properly push roleplay than other people might start tagging along and joining in.
Another issue i see is people saying “Roleplay gets you banned!!”
We all know this is not true, roleplaying doesn’t get you banned unless you decide to completely disregard the rules the server set in place. Just because you Unjustifiably shot someone cause you were “roleplaying a killer” doesn’t work or the server would be full of people randomly killing others for no reason. It isn’t the roleplay that gets you banned, it’s your actions (i know this very well).
PVP - People continue to say that PVP is ruining the server, When in reality if it wasn’t for the PVP the server most likely would not be as alive as it is. It is not the actual PVP that ruins the server, it’s certain Toxic players who decide to actually ruin the fun for those roleplaying that put this idea into other players heads. Toxicity will not just “go away” and there will always be toxic players but just because one of them ruined what you were doing doesn’t mean you should stop doing it. I think people do not realise not EVERYONE enjoys roleplaying by building fun bases, Shop designs and communal areas and i say each to their own, if you want to build communal areas and someone comes along to ruin it, report them.
I think the issue is that people should stop complaining on the forums and get out into the server and start roleplaying, building communal areas, hotels, Cafe’s or issues will remain the same. Agree or disagree with me if you choose but this is how i see the issue.
Edit - I also think people do not realise how much potential to roleplay within the server there actually is, if it was not for the developers taking their time to input new things, New props. A whole new redesigned forest with a lot of potential in the recent 6.1 update we would not have as much to work with. There is a lot of potential and things people can do now, so be creative and do them. Just don’t break obvious rules and complain afterwards
