Your First Car (and Suggestions).

Hi there,

So, I recently realized that a many people in this community are finally growing up and reaching the point where they are finally able to buy and drive their very first car. A lot of these people have not given a thought towards it nor are many going to buy a car despite reaching the minimum age.

I will be applying for my provisional license very soon - "You can apply for a provisional driving licence when you’re 15 years and 9 months old." -GOV.UK - however cannot drive my car until I am 17 years old - "You can start driving a car when you’re 17" -GOV.UK.

The cars which I have had specialist advice on purchasing/reviewing are:

Ford Fiesta:
£2,100 - Insurance Premium
£3,000 - Initial Cost

Im doing my lessons in a few weeks! Im going to be getting one of the new ford fiestas. Interiors digusting but outside is nice. Was going to get the spark until a YouTube review said it struggles to do 70mph ahhaha

I would just like to say a few things:

• I thank you for all of your replies so far and I will DEFINATELY look into a Volvo 242 Turbo.
• I am most likely going to but a Volkswagen Polo thanks to it's reliability, rather cheap price and overall excellency however will always be on the look out for more future cars.
• The car I will most likely want to get in a few years (during or after university/at work) will be the BMW M3 E93

For all of you, the 242/240 are not as fast as you think they are, and the turbo on the turbo version is made out of paper. Consider never getting a Porche or an M3. These cars are too expensive and will not help you in any way. They just are for rich people that don't care what they waste their money on, and the fact you are not a racer justifys this even more. I would recommend the Peugeot Diesel Hybrid, for both fuel conversation and satisfaction, and since fuel is expensive and will get even more, hybrids will save a lot of your money, and this hybrid works with both engines, so just read about it more. What I will be getting is any 70s muscle/other car, in which I will buy a Small Block Chevy 350 Cu, that I will install a 750+ hp kit. Sounds insane but since I come from quite a rich family, I can afford that. Hopefully I will find a dumb cunt with a sport car+ that will be trading my car for his, in which I could make a few thousand dollars. My dad's friend is a personal car dealer, in which he made min. million dollars. I hope doing the same in the future.
