How does one get 1 tapped, from mid range even though the bullet spread must have gave hardly any damage, but it takes 5 shots with a mossberg to kill a cop. But then i 1 tap to other cops? i dont understand what the damage system is like....

whats hard to understand that a shotgun one shots at close range? The second clip you only actually hit the officer twice which seems reasonable since he has moderate armour and you are at mid range.
I have 100 shotgun marksmanship and that shit is like a fucking sniper bro

I could be wrong, but it looks like most of your spread hit the officer's legs, not the body, whereas the other 2 got peppered in the chest and face. Barrel length, shotgun marksmanship and all that good stuff play a vital role here. If I am not mistaken, officer's get +15 levels (???, idk) and your shotgun marksmanship is 10.
It really depends on how much of your spread hits what, how concentrated the spread is (longer barrel means higher concentration) and the marksmanship levels.

100/100 shotgun marksmanship makes it the best weapon choice on perp, shotguns are wonderful

Yeah but the issue is regular folk isn't able to noclip to point-blank range of the target in the shooting range.

56/100 Shotgun marksmanship player here, It gets better as you level. The spread gets more concentrated. And yes, When a significant amount of shot hits even a TFU in the head, it takes em down on a single tap.
Here, you can see the officer clearly got shot in the head, but the shot blast scatter didn't all land there, Meaning the officer wasn't significantly injured. When I shot the mayor, however, He dropped instantly because enough of the shots hit his head. Then with the SS Agent, you see him take multiple shots and survive, Because Since I was aiming at his head and shotguns scatter shots, few shots actually hit.
The "issue" with shotguns on PERP is not that they're not powerful enough, but if you aim for someones head and fire, alot of the shotblast will miss. The mayor dropped instantly because I aimed for his upper torso, Meaning the spread was able to hit his head, neck and torso.
So, Basically, Don't aim for heads with a Shotty, Go upper torso innit.

Old fucking thread but I shoot shotguns alot, (12guage) If shotguns were to be the same in a game as real life, I can tell you, a shotgun will be so fucking powerful you would likely use it over a m4 more

Add slugs and/or shotgun chokes ezpz, damn things would be OP af In-Game.
adding chokes or slugs will unbalance too shit unless they do something clever
