Hello all; first post in a while after being gone from Perp for ages. Hope you're all doing well!

Recently, I and many others attended the racing event hosted by Omar and Aldi at the church; the race that involved the suburbs junction being blocked.
Both during and after the event, many complaints were accrued by myself, other fellow racers, observers, helpers and even admins as to the conduct of this event, and how it generally was managed.
I'm curious to hear everyone's opinions of the events; participants mainly, but observers are also vital in talking about the event!

DISCLAIMER; This is not a hit piece. I am putting forward my perspective, and inviting others to do the same.

My story

I paid 5k to participate, and raced alongside 3 other racers.
At the end of both my races, me and the 2 other racers both objected to the actions of fellow driver Fig Finkleberry, as we believed that they had crashed into us; an action disallowed by the rules of the event, set up and enforced by Omar.

When discussing the issue between myself and the other racers, we decided to confront and raise the issue to Omar, who was on scene organising the event.
This was a paid event with a registration fee of $5000, required in order to participate, so we felt that some level of punishment or enforcement of the rules was in order.
Omar proceeded to answer as such when concerns were raised:

In the clip, Omar excuses the actions of Fig Finkleberry by admitting to breaking the rules himself, saying "it doesn't matter, I did the same thing to both cars..." (he had raced previously against other drivers in his own event...??)
This goes against the rules that Omar himself set in the event, clearly displayed on a sign by the entrance to the event (sorry for poor quality!)

"DISQUALIFICATION: missing a check-point, cheating, crashing into others"

By Omar's own rules, he should be disqualified from the event himself (as he also admitted to breaking his own rules), as well as Fig Finkleberry if they were caught to be crashing.
As said earlier, this was a paid event that required $5000 to enter, sent to Omar directly.
Omar going against his own rules, admitting to it and continuing to run the event despite this is something that raised concern to myself and others, especially considering that Fig Finkleberry continued to race in the event, winning 2nd place and gaining $150,000, gained from both Omar's personal funds, and the previously stated registration fee.

Outside of this, many people also complained of terrible conduct throughout the event, including excessive swearing, shouting, verbal beratement of people helping running the event and abuse of physgun perms given by server admins. This clip shows some of the public opinion during the event, aswell as the physgun abuse and improper behaviour. https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/lqcUmZOzhrC0HgARi?invite=cr-MSx5NGssMzMxNDk5Nzg&v=30

After the event aswell, in personal talks with Omar, he showed continued display of terrible conduct with excessive swearing and childish behaviour in response to criticisms about the event. He initially denied admitting crashing into others, and then when shown his own words in the clip previous, got aggressive and swore excessively, and continued to harass me throughout the week.

I'm curious to hear as to what other people have made of the events so far, as I've only attended 1 so far and been subjected to, in my opinion, an improperly planned, unpleasant and unfair use of about an hour and a half of my time. I hope the other events can be run well, but if they continue in any vain similar to this, I can't see it going any better.

Any opinion contributed is greatly appreciated; I'm very interested to hear what you all think.

Have a good day!

Hello Lola here is my offical statement:

You lost the in the very first round 2-0 against @chopperr, then came to the referee to complain about it. Because nether track marshal found his driving to noticeable at the time no action was taken. The 20 players doing the tournament were not gonna stop everything to listen and consider why you think the outcome was unfair, in reality you just kinda looked like sore looser in that moment tbh.

It is worth mentioning you were the 4th slowest person at the event, setting a fastest lap that was 8-9 seconds off the winners pace.
I jumped in as a last minute replacement for a player whos internet broke and I set a time faster than you in a Tesla on my first try.

Lastly me and all the people helping the event try our hardest to be fair and unbiased and how your accusations really hurt. However I must take back any concession I previoiusly made, choppers driving (at least in the 2 round against you) was completely within the margins and you lost due to skill issue.

Here is the video of you first lap, you were leading but then drove into a wall.

I accidentally "cut" a 10min clip of the even when saving this video, but maybe you can provide a video of the other round so we can see the unfair driving from @chopperr you are talking about?

That's cute comparing speed when the races seems unfair when the people running the dam thing are destroying the city how about we talk about how unfair the race was and I think that was the point of this and not avoid it with petty insults i'd hear in a dam playground when I was a kid xD

Let me get this straight:
  • Enters a PERP racing event knowing full well that the game's driving mechanics leave a lot to be desired, in a car that is disadvantaged compared to most others with regards to handling.
  • Loses their lap to someone who objectively drove better in a faster and more agile car.
  • Ignores the fact that they drove into a fucking wall twice at each critical hairpin turn, instead makes a complaint to event organisers about said other driver supposedly exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct in the event - which is investigated and not upheld - because common sense prevails where true chads know that unintentional occasional contact is just a fact of racing on PERP.
  • Disagrees with this decision and attempts to vilify said organiser through tremendous yapping to other people who are spectating the event, so as to validate their feelings.
  • Where the other spectators are clearly saying things in jest and sarcastically, takes this to be a springboard to vocalise shitty opinion on the forums, as lacks the understanding to know when people are joking.
  • Proceeds to make stupid fucking thread with two nothingburger videos that supposedly show egregious conduct and 'physgun abuse' in the hopes that others will agree with their shitty opinion.
  • Attempts to conflate their one bad experience with 'therefore every race must be terrible and @Eistee von Aldi is an awful person', but attempts to deflect this notion and protect their own feelings/reputation by putting a stupid fucking disclaimer at the top of the thread entitled 'THIS IS NOT A HIT PIECE'.

Seriously? Ever heard of the phrase 'be humble in victory and gracious in defeat'?

@Eistee von Aldi "Because nether track marshal found his driving to noticeable at the time no action was taken." does not excuse that you admitted to going against your own rules in the event. Nowhere in your "official statement" do you acknowledge this, whereas most of the message is focused on degrading me and painting me as "a sore loser." ("lost due to skill issue", focuses on my times as opposed to the inherent flaw in the event)
I did state that "we believed that they had crashed into us" as a premise for our complaint; that is not the point of the initial post. (This also fails to excuse the SLR going full speed into the side of the orange sports car and thus taking into first...)

@Acerius where do I say '...every race must be terrible and @Eistee von Aldi is an awful person' anywhere in my message? I say it's not a hit piece as I'm presenting what facts I do have forward to the community, whereas both of your messages are aggressive and insulting for no good reason ("stupid fucking thread with two nothingburger videos", "shitty opinion", "protect their own feelings/reputation by putting a stupid fucking disclaimer", "attempts to vilify said organiser through tremendous yapping", "vocalise shitty opinion on the forums, as lacks the understanding to know when people are joking"...)

Nowhere in my message did I discredit or insult Omar as rudely as either of you have done to me in response (perpeutating the harassing behaviour Omar has exhibited throughout the week...); neither am I attempting to state Omar is "an awful person" or state the races "must be terrible". I've not resorted to swearing or insults in response to his actions and don't deserve such treatment for voicing my opinion.

I wish for the races to go ahead with a better mind, but if the issues presented cannot be dealt with properly and instead are excused with swearing and confusing statements, then I still think there's an issue to be had.

I'm gonna be honest the race is for fun, You complained about how you got hit by someone

This was me 2 weeks ago and I never complained once. I was happy to be apart of it

There is video of both laps, you lost fair and square. You are being rude to your opponents, just say "gg" because they beat you decisively

You still aren't acknowledging that you admitted to violating your own rules in a paid event.
I don't know what "paid event" means. Do you mean you paid to participate? You can refund the 5k anytime, its just to prevent trolls from joining.

16x7k = 112k (max earnings from registration fees)
the total prize money for that event (1st+2nd+3rd) place was 600k, paid by myself and our sponsors

Honestly I am reacting way too nice for how awful you were to me. You lack sportmanship and skill and you accuse me of rigging the events to cope. I'm not having that anymore, nodbody cares if you get your feelings hurt you are a shite driver and you lost and nobdy cares what losers think

Just because you chose not to swear in any of your statements does not preclude the fact that you yourself are crafting a narrative that fits your own bias, nor that your thread by its very nature is aggressive as the only argument your whole narrative perpetuates is that @Eistee von Aldi is somehow the problem.

I don't know why you felt the need to say that I'm perpetuating this alleged harassment that you've been experiencing; I hate to break it to you, but me insulting you and swearing in my response doesn't by itself constitute harassment. I have zero idea as to who you are and if memory serves, I've had no notable interactions with you either on or off the server.

If you genuinely feel harassed by what I've said, then maybe you should take a step back the next time you create a thread like this and think about whether you're prepared to handle any criticism that comes your way - no matter its flavour - particularly when any reasonable bystander can see you are introducing your own conscious biases and not just presenting material facts, as you have claimed.

If you don't like the way in which the FENTANYL YOGA races are run, then don't participate. It's that simple.

"oh no i paid a minimal amount of money to join a fun player-hosted event and didnt win, so now im going to try and do everything i can to make an excuse and ruin it"

are you hearing yourself? boohoo dude :wtf:
