Hello all; first post in a while after being gone from Perp for ages. Hope you're all doing well!
Recently, I and many others attended the racing event hosted by Omar and Aldi at the church; the race that involved the suburbs junction being blocked.
Both during and after the event, many complaints were accrued by myself, other fellow racers, observers, helpers and even admins as to the conduct of this event, and how it generally was managed.
I'm curious to hear everyone's opinions of the events; participants mainly, but observers are also vital in talking about the event!
DISCLAIMER; This is not a hit piece. I am putting forward my perspective, and inviting others to do the same.
My story
I paid 5k to participate, and raced alongside 3 other racers.
At the end of both my races, me and the 2 other racers both objected to the actions of fellow driver Fig Finkleberry, as we believed that they had crashed into us; an action disallowed by the rules of the event, set up and enforced by Omar.
When discussing the issue between myself and the other racers, we decided to confront and raise the issue to Omar, who was on scene organising the event.
This was a paid event with a registration fee of $5000, required in order to participate, so we felt that some level of punishment or enforcement of the rules was in order.
Omar proceeded to answer as such when concerns were raised:

In the clip, Omar excuses the actions of Fig Finkleberry by admitting to breaking the rules himself, saying "it doesn't matter, I did the same thing to both cars..." (he had raced previously against other drivers in his own event...??)
This goes against the rules that Omar himself set in the event, clearly displayed on a sign by the entrance to the event (sorry for poor quality!)
"DISQUALIFICATION: missing a check-point, cheating, crashing into others"
By Omar's own rules, he should be disqualified from the event himself (as he also admitted to breaking his own rules), as well as Fig Finkleberry if they were caught to be crashing.
As said earlier, this was a paid event that required $5000 to enter, sent to Omar directly.
Omar going against his own rules, admitting to it and continuing to run the event despite this is something that raised concern to myself and others, especially considering that Fig Finkleberry continued to race in the event, winning 2nd place and gaining $150,000, gained from both Omar's personal funds, and the previously stated registration fee.
Outside of this, many people also complained of terrible conduct throughout the event, including excessive swearing, shouting, verbal beratement of people helping running the event and abuse of physgun perms given by server admins. This clip shows some of the public opinion during the event, aswell as the physgun abuse and improper behaviour. https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/lqcUmZOzhrC0HgARi?invite=cr-MSx5NGssMzMxNDk5Nzg&v=30
After the event aswell, in personal talks with Omar, he showed continued display of terrible conduct with excessive swearing and childish behaviour in response to criticisms about the event. He initially denied admitting crashing into others, and then when shown his own words in the clip previous, got aggressive and swore excessively, and continued to harass me throughout the week.
I'm curious to hear as to what other people have made of the events so far, as I've only attended 1 so far and been subjected to, in my opinion, an improperly planned, unpleasant and unfair use of about an hour and a half of my time. I hope the other events can be run well, but if they continue in any vain similar to this, I can't see it going any better.
Any opinion contributed is greatly appreciated; I'm very interested to hear what you all think.
Have a good day!
