I never understood why IA has to be so anonymous and secret when action requests are not. I honestly wish will become different with PLPD Online V2
It makes sense to me.

As a Sergeant, I want my subordinates to feel safe opening a complaint against misconduct by ANY person regardless of rank without worrying about any harm coming their way.

This is the same with Staff Complaints being anonymous so that the person complaining doesn't feel as if they are placing a target on their forehead by speaking out.

Action Requests are more of a matter between two people of generally equal power-standing, kind of like a civil dispute, so it makes no difference in most cases.

I was going to reply, but couldn't put it this nicely into words. The PD is a whole ecosystem of it's own.

Also one thing that the complaints being public would do is that an officer could easily become a target of civilians and other officers in terms or ridicule. Additionally also putting a big crosshair on their head by the other sergeants.

That's why we need a reason to search an officer's record.

There is no situation were we will make IAs public, if thats what your getting at here

The anonymous feature on current PLPD is a issue were some discussion can be had post release, since its almost impossible to submit valid proof on a IA without showing your identity anyway
