Hello!

Maybe you're wondering why ParalakeFM is taking so long. Well, my ol'shitbox has been having some issues and I've been working my ass off saving for a new vehicle. My current whip is 27 years old and economically not viable to repair. It runs, but it leaks like my 80 year old granddad and has the fuel efficiency of a Dodge RAM right now. It will not pass this year's MOT. I do not trust car dealerships for advice., therefore i come to the Perpheads community! Dont cry though, the mustard colored bastard will be turned into a rally car.

What i seek in a future vehicle:

  • Station wagon(Or estate for you teasippers) I really like the large space they offer but i don't want a pedestrian murdering large SUV. Something in between, like the Volvo XC70 is fine.
  • Powerful. AWD I'd like at least a 2.5L engine, 250BHP+. I'll be towing trailers and caravans through hilly Europe. I also like to go fast. 5 or 6 cilinder preferred.
  • Decent options like heated seats. Basic infotainment is fine but i do like a screen with satnav. Basic driver assists like radar cruise control are also nice but not a requirement.
  • I have always driven a manual. I do not mind an automatic transmission but i require it to either be very fast or have a manual mode on it.
  • I don't care much about maintenance costs. I do vehicle maintenance myself. Should still be reasonable ofcourse
  • i prefer a fun car over an economical car.

So far i am considering:

- The volvo V70 T6 (2010-2012 models / XC70 models, love them but for my budget i do get the more worn down ones.
- Audi A4 Avant

Budget is around 10-15K, but i can raise it slightly if there's a solid reason. Currently hovering on the Volvo but I'd love to hear suggestions!

Help me and paralakeFM will launch sooner

Rogue will tell him that both cars are awful because they have built in stereos and that he should get a weird obscure 80s eastern bloc Toaster on wheels...
My current car had a built-in stereo, but i just threw a reciprocating saw at it and installed my own. Built-in stereos's are a non issue!

okay if you're towing and stuff you're probably going to want a diesel but they bite you in the ass for that in your stupid country so ill try to find petrols
you're probably going to hate me for this answer but

Citroen C5 with the 2.2 diesel or 2.0 they also do a 2.0 petrol but they are all 4 cyl
both pre and post facelift (2000 to 2010) are all pretty decent and actually i think are cool. None of them come with AWD but it shouldnt matter really just get appropriate tyres for the conditions

Volvo V70 are a good choice again petrol or diesel but they are expensive to fix

the W203 mercedes are really bulletproof and good for towing just make sure they dont have the stupid active air suspension and also that they're not rotten underneath

Honda Accord 'Tourer' they're again really reliable but i wouldnt go for an automatic on those they're terrible and AVOID the diesels they're also terrible

Citroen Berlingo Multispace again with the diesel (do not choose a petrol for the love of god)

Vauxhall Vectra estate they do a VXR version too with the 2.0 petrol does like 0-60 in 6 seconds it's crazy fast but i think they're the ugliest things to ever exist
