Hello recently i came back to perp after like 1 month break and i noticed that its very laggy. I literally cant walk 10 meters without getting lag spikes. Everything is ok on other games like gta,rdr 2 and other games that take even more memory than gmod.

And also on another servers everything is fine but on perp its really really laggy. Any help i can get?

I dont personally use it but i've been told this cfg is good:

-high -nod3d9ex -nojoy -nohltv -preload -nosteamcontroller -processheap -novid -useforcedmparms -malloc=system -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -windowed -noborder -w 2560 -h 1440 -particles 512 -softparticlesdefaultoff +exec autoexec.cfg

These are the settings I use.

And console commands:

Useful console commands
r_3dsky "0"
r_drawdetailprops 0
r_drawbatchdecals "0"
r_shadows 0 (you won't be able to see flashlights if you set this to 0 keep this in mind)

Give this a go bud. :)

Does config and console only have to be set up once or is it every time I launch?

The console commands need to go in the autoexec cfg file for them to be executed on game launch, not the launch arguments.
That’s really helpful thank you

With those in the cfg and also the other stuff in the launch arguments, what improvement could I possibly see for my game?

Last time I tried something like this I couldn’t move and had to verify my files haha

Should just give FPS increases, maybe minor but should help you out. Give it a go and have a look.
