Hello lads,

The title is pretty self explanatory, I'm looking for anyone here who can give me tips or suggestions for a 125cc motorbike, preferably a sport/super sport looking design which is good for first time riders and learners.

Reason I'm asking is because i'm looking into apprenticeships with Glaxosmithkline at their head office in Brentford however I've been told that traffic is terrible in the mornings therefore I'm looking into getting a bike to get to work instead of sitting in traffic. So if anyone knows anything about bikes hmu

I'm currently looking at getting this Aprilla RS4

It may be made entirely in China but they're pretty reliable as a beginner motorcycle and you can sound cool if you put a custom exhaust on it

I currently own a YBR 125 https://gyazo.com/a8c31325e597392fc4f7a63af8bcdabd i would highly recommend yamaha. I have been studying automotive engineering for just over 2 years now and i know a little bit about bikes from real experience. I dont know your budget but here are some bikes i would recommend.

1. Honda CBR 125 https://gyazo.com/b018e44acf1963fa8b6071f8bcf2cdb4
2. Yamaha yzf r125 https://gyazo.com/ca765d43279e4362d62b3bc99c835a8f

These are both good sports bike from my experience i wouldn't recommend something i have no experience riding or working on. Now i dont know if you have ever been on a sports bike but it gets really uncomfortable on long rides and you might want something more like the bike i have if you plan on commuting on it everyday. I would definitely look at some bikes and have a sit on them and feel the riding position and get what you like best.

These days Chinese bikes are actually pretty good but they still have one flaw which is depreciation in value something Japanese bikes are good at, so if you plan on selling your bike in the future whether it is to upgrade or buy a car it's hard to get a Chinese bike sold for even half the price you sold it. Thats something to think about i almost got a Chinese bike but opted for a YBR 125 instead which i will be able to sell for much more in the years to come and i will only lose a few hundred quid after 2 years(when i plan to sell it and move to a bigger bike).

Aprilia's are nice bikes but they are 2 strokes and are less reliable and require 2 stroke oil to be put in with the petrol. 2 strokes smell bad and make annoying noises but they are a little faster than 4 strokes. if you want anymore advice on this subject let me know i'm assuming you know about 2/4 strokes.
