A sweatervests guide to 'ratings'.

It's come to my attention that many people within the forums don't fully understand what each of these ratings mean, and to be honest they've been more of a hinderance than a benefit to the forums. However, they are here to stay so I'll explain each rating and what each of them means.

Like Rating
This rating is the rating which was the old forum software, and basically means that you think that the post in question has actually benefited the discussion in some way. You feel that this post is somewhat 'good'.

Dislike Rating

This rating is not really used much, however if none of your negative ratings fit this is usually the one which you will use. It means exactly what it says, you dislike the post and do not think the content of it has benefited the original post in any way.

Agree Rating

Again, pretty self-explanatory; this rating is used when you feel like information or a post that has been posted is something that you understand and agree with.
It's always nice to actually leave a post to why you agree.

Disagree Rating

This rating can be compared a lot to the 'like' rating however this rating is simply for when you feel that information or content contributes towards the thread however you fully disagree with this. It's always nice to actually leave a post to why you disagree.

Funny Rating

This rating is used when you feel something is funny, laugh out loud banterous or somewhat 'smart' and 'witty'.
The post is mainly directed towards being funny, and rarely gives a great contribution other than comedy.

Winner Rating

The winner rating is usually for the most respected post, usually a post which has everything; comedy, good content, descripton and something which you somewhat agree with.

Informative Rating

Since reading a post have you gained some good information? Has this information benefited you in some way? If so, the Informative rating is usually the one for the job.

Friendly Rating

This rating is usually something heart-warming, a welcoming of a new member, or a goodbye post with some good times. Something which is completley positive and that the OP has tried hard to actually be nice to people(s).

Useful Rating

This rating is somewhat like 'informative' however this is something which you could use within the future and has benefited you to the maximum. It's not only give you information, but it has given you some information you could pass on, or use to your advantage later.

Optimistic Rating

This rating could be used for a number of things, however the most common use is for something which is highly ambitous however the OP is giving it a go anyway.
Optimistic, in the right direction and 'positive'.

Creative Rating

This rating is used for only the most creative posts, a good peice of art work, something cool, astethically pleasing, clever, smart or witty.

Old Rating

This rating is used when something has been done loads of times before, something that hasn't contributed much new to the discussion.

Bad Spelling Rating

This rating is used when something is spelt wrong, although it's always nice to correct people via the comments this is a negative rating as OP's should work on spelling things right before posting. This is in no way grammar, but spelling.

Dumb Rating

The final and most negative rating, the dumb rating is the most used negative rating and is used when something is so stupid that it deserves to be ridiculed for it. This contributes nothing to the original post, or the disussion in general.

I didn't realise that the 'zing' rating has been removed.

Question: Is this now the retardo post VS good post testing ground?
