Hi,

It has obviously been an issue in the community for a long time that toxicity has been prevalent. We are not talking about in-character disputes but rather when people move their in-game disputes to OOC contexts. This is an issue for many reasons, I am sure most of you don't enjoy having to read the verbal dribble that comes from these toxic attitudes.

Obviously, we cannot just purge everyone as that would result in a massive drop in players. So I and @Efan have come up with the idea of a step between CWB and general sanctions. We noticed that a lot of the toxic individuals actually have the ability to play the server and roleplay correctly. This is obviously not true for everyone but rather the majority.

Communication Bans

A step between OOC sanctions and CWB
. At the moment if we were to do a purge of toxicity it would result in a CWB and a loss of players, obviously, we do not want this.

A communication ban is the removal of OOC to a player, a forum ban, a Discord ban and a TeamSpeak ban. You will still be able to play the server, however, you will not be able to partake in the community.

The forum ban will not be absolute as you will be able to view ban appeals, action requests and staff complaints. This will be rescinded if you cannot behave here either. This would have to be done via a Forum rank which will take some time to set up, but doable.

By introducing this, bans for toxicity will be more prevalent however this will be a stepping stone to that final punishment. If you cannot still behave after a communication ban you will be community-wide banned.

This is still fairly experimental and subject to change.
