Why Do You Want To Be An Enforcer:
This is a big question which I’ll divide into sections, so get some popcorn!
Long Introduction (backstory)
I’ll start this application in early 2017. I can’t quite pinpoint the exact date but it was around then that I started playing the server (it took a while before I registered to Forums). when I first started playing PERP I was fresh out of DarkRP and didn’t quite know what I was doing. I had my friend Illuminathan close who introduced me to people in the community but he didn’t teach me the rules well enough for me to get along by myself because I picked up a few warnings in my first few months playing and it never really sunk in that this server wasn’t DarkRP and I couldn’t kill whoever I wanted or run away when someone has a gun backed up against my head. This said I absolutely loved the server and would come back every day for more.
Late 2017 coming into 2018, after Nathan stopped playing for a bit I was left to fend for myself and began to pick up the rules and made a few friendships along the way. Slowly but surely I was learning my way around and was having more fun than I’d ever had. I especially loved being a part of PLPD, failing my Stage 3 10 times.. As you do. I made a couple introduction and resignation threads but I never truly left and I have always played PERP on and off over the last 3 years.
Anyways, it must have been a solid year of playing regularly and not getting any warnings and at this point I hadn’t yet been banned. I really felt like I was a part of a great community and was having a lot of fun. However like all good things, this ended and PERP just didn’t feel interesting to me anymore. This new mindset, mixed with my young age of only 12/13 shortly led into mingey behaviour and on the 25th of July, 2018 at 6:40PM I received my first; and last; ban. If I remember the situation correctly, I falsely shot someone on PD then left out of guilt and was banned for 3 months. I saw the error in my actions and decided the modest way to move past the ban was to accept the punishment and wait out the ban, this way I could spend the time banned to actually think about my actions and change my ways. I feel now that I was simply too young to comprehend the gamemode, as whilst I did go a year without any infractions, it was probably lucky I wasn’t reported because I was just an immature kid having fun.
After my ban expired I took a break from PERP and returned in 2019, I have been playing PERP on and off throughout 2019 and now 2020 but in the recent months I’ve started to play PERP actively again and given the situation, haven't got much better to do haha.
So that wraps up my “history”, whilst I began as a little mingey kid I was able to change my ways into a good player, only then to change my ways again. However I do believe the reason I was such a little shit was purely because of my age and immaturity and the same sort of behaviour would not happen again. I haven’t gotten an infraction for two years and I plan on keeping my record clean for as long as I play.
I feel like I had to write about my backstory so people can know my experience on the server that can support my points I am now going to make. Now onto the more interesting part.
Why do I want to be an Enforcer?
I have always admired the Staff Team on this server and always will. Ever since I joined I have aspired to one day be on the Team and it’s been a goal for the entirety of my time in the community. I love this community and this server and I would love to volunteer myself to fulfill the role of Enforcer because I want to give back to this amazing community more than I already try to do. I have noticed that the server is very understaffed and I would love to do whatever I can to help that situation. I have always loved to help others and I feel like this would be a great way for me to express my passion and benefit not only others but myself as well. I like having responsibility and I feel like this is a good one to take on because in doing so I am helping other people.
Why should I be accepted as an Enforcer?
I will list all my qualities below and summarise them after. My qualities are as follows:
These qualities I have picked up over my 15 years of life and I believe I can put all of them to use on the job. The server is also frequently labelled “understaffed” and I personally think I could have a positive impact on this issue and help to fix it with these qualities listed and my activity. I think my best quality by far is that because I don't have many close connections on the server (sounds sad I know) I'll have no issue giving the correct punishments to anybody without hesitation. Like I said anyway, I'm not biased.
Addressing the Community
So I know what everyone’s first reaction will be when they see “flugs’ Enforcer Application”. “Who the fuck is flugs?”. I know that I have never been popular or widely known and nor do I try to be, I just try to be nice to everyone and get along with everyone. This being said I don’t believe my “relevance” in the community should be taken into consideration when giving a verdict. Just because I’m not very well known does not mean I don’t have any of the qualities I have listed nor does it mean I am any less capable as someone with a high reaction score and an expert member tag. I understand there sometimes isn’t a good response to Enforcer Applications but I really don’t think people should prioritise relevance when choosing to support an application, I am a good person and have good intentions, I don’t see why I shouldn’t get a chance. I do however understand if people believe because I’m not well known I haven’t proven my knowledge of the rules and laws because that may well be the case but I try my hardest to show people I know what I’m doing. My last point I’m going to make here is lots of people are complaining the server is understaffed, I’m active every day and would spend most of my time on duty, which is just what people want is it not?
Overall, I really think I deserve a chance, as whilst I’m not very well known I still obtain all these qualities and could really be a benefit to the Staff Team. I am active every day and I think over time I am slowly becoming known in the community, hopefully as someone who follows the rules but can still have fun.
Are You Active On The Teamspeak:
I do believe I am quite active on TS and I deafen in lobby if I'm not in a patrol channel or lounge.
Do You Have Anything Else To Say:
I understand if this is denied because I haven’t “proven myself” to Staff Management but my recent efforts have been to do just that. I simply ask for people to read this application and hear what I have to say.
I also have to address my age. Whilst people think my age will impact my ability of enforcing rules, or at least being taken seriously, I can too understand that. Once again, I believe I deserve a shot because my voice is fairly mature and I haven’t been “not taken seriously” before on this server.
If you don’t believe I have what it takes to be an Enforcer, I’d love to hear why so I can improve myself. Words are much more useful than a reaction so please tell me because I genuinely want to hear how I can improve!
I really think I have a chance, that's why I've applied. However if I do get denied then I will take all of the feedback and try again another time.
