~A lot people join the server asking how they can acquire new genes and which one they should get, following more and more questions which can hog up the [Help] and chat section itself.
Hence, this guide.

Guide to Genes

Section 1 : What are genes?
- Genes are the locuses of your characters' DNA which allows your character to gain certain abilities.
As you get into the city of Paralake, you start off with 5 genes, from your birth.
To add these genes into your DNA, you press F1 (menu) -> Genetics.
- You will get this screen in which you can distribute genes the way you wish to (below sections will talk about their proper distribution as a begginer)

Section 2 : Which genes should I pick?
- As a begginer, you really need to pick the right combination of genes at the start, as you only have 5 and reseting the points will be costly.

Ideally, you should distribute them as such:

1. Intelligence (3) - This gives you the ability to craft all the items you would need as a new, fresh civilian in the city. It gives you the ability to craft firearms, carbombs, bats, knives, anything you desire will be in your range with 3 intelligence points, and will fulfill all your needs!
- It will also give you the ability to craft Large Gardening Pots, which is what you need to grow your drugs in big batches, like a real criminal you always wanted to be!

2. Dexterity (1) - Dexterity is generally used for crafting furniture, but what you really need it for early on is it's ability to allow you to place your seeds in the pot so they can grow.
Yes, you require genes for that as not everyone is skilled enough with their hands to place seeds in a pot, damn!

3. Strength (1) - This gives you the strength in your arms to craft firearms and other items alike!
(but we both know you only want those big guns)

*This is not the way you HAVE to distribute them, this is just a suggestion of the best starter genetic kit.

Section 3 : What other abilites do I gain from genes?

1. Regeneration - The speed at which your character regenerates is determined solely on the gene points you have in this section

2. Perception* - This has no usage apart from crafting certain items, ex. Carbomb.

3. Influence - This gene currently has no usage, and any points distributed for it will have no use. It previously influenced the /roll function on the server.

4. Intelligence* - This has no usage part from crafting certain items, ex. Large Gardening Pots.

5. Strength* - Determines how much damage your character can take from others (his max health), how strong his punches are, how many items he is able to succcesfully carry in his pockets.

6. Dexterity* - This has no usage apart from crafting certain items, ex. Drugs.

* - Genes that allow you to craft certain items.

Section 4 : How much do I have to pay for them?

- As previously mentioned, you start with 5 genes which are completely free for you to distribute.
To gain more genes, you are required to go to the NPC at the hospital and ask him to buy new ones.
- The first gene you buy will cost you 5000$. Everytime you buy another gene after that, it will increase by 5000$ respectively, meaning it will cost 10000$ for the second one, etc.
- You can have a maximum of 15 genes.

You should mention the ideal gene setup for crafting:

If you're not interested in crafting TVs, this is the ideal setup:

Regeneration 2
Perception 4
Influence 0
Intelligence 4
Strength 3
Dexterity 2

This will allow you to craft anything, from bombs to snipers, other than a TV and certain furniture. If you'd like to craft TVs, take one regeneration point out for a point in intelligence. However, if you're not bothered about crafting, then you should take 5 strength and 5 regen, and dump the other 5 in whatever you want.

No longer WIP, full version is now released.

Added Sorle's crafting in "extras" section.
Formatted a few things.

Feel free to suggest/correct me if I missed something

Isn't it important to have 5 regen and 5 strength for when the time comes Billy Ray begins to beat you up for no reason?
