Hello,
Today I was met with a blue screen which stated "No user profile found" or something of the sort. It then signed me out, I signed back in and was met with preparing windows for about 10 minutes or so.
After that time, I was then met with a different desktop than what I usually had, Not my background, My taskbar had been reverted, All programs pinned to desktop had been unpinned, etc.
Microsoft recently released a new update named: "KB4535996" which has reportedly messed up lots of computers, (BSOD's, Not turning on and general "BEEPS" from the computer its self. Has anyone else had this sort of issue before where your computer does what happened to me or is it just a one-off thing? I'm not immensely worried as I'm selling this one off in 3 Weeks or so after I get a new one and have factory reset this one.
Just generally checking to see if this has happened before.
Thanks!

Welcome to windows updates! Yes, this happens alot. Microsoft does not test updates like they used to do and blindly rolls out updates like an asian driver changes lanes. It should not cause your computer to beep. that might indicate a hardware issue.

Mine did not beep, however, some peoples did indeed.
My computer is over 5 years old so I am selling it off for £180 to my brother who has a windows 8 laptop that is 8+ Years old

ah ok, in that case you're fine with a reinstall of windows . normally i'd say 0 your drive if you sell it off, but if its your brother he probably wont dig for old information or passwords.

Do not listen to this idiot. There is a reason Windows updates are there. They put out security updates that are important. If you don’t, you are asking to get hacked.

Windows 10 has always been quiet different than any other windows, when they first time released Windows in beta mode or whatever. I updated to it, but all it did was completely somehow fuck up my PC at the point I had to reinstall everything.

I haven't really had problems with Windows 10 since then as it's long ago, and I've only started using Windows 10 maybe 1 and a half year ago? Either way, might just be an issue with Windows 10 as it isn't the most stable OS in the world.
