Controversy. Its tactic was to cause a media fiasco then use that to make loads of money, which worked. Running with Scissors did it with the original postal game (and the rest in the series for that matter) And South park did it with all their video games too.

How shit the game actually is has no relevancy on its sales, People buy it because it caused controversy upon announcement and release, not because its a good game.

It works, But it shouldn't work in 2022.
